The Hashtag Trend Tag

October 15, 2024 by readanotherpage 4 Comments

I was looking for a blog post idea and someone recommended this blog tag. I hadn’t seen it before, or maybe I have and just don’t remember. Either way, I decided I’d do it. I do find it rather funny though since I only recently starting using hashtags and am still hesitant about what to do. Usually if I do use # it is the number sign. Or if it’s a little bigger you can play tic-tact-toe. 😀

Rules:

Thank the person who tagged you & link to their blog. Um, I wasn’t actually tagged, so I’m not sure who to link to.
Link back to the creator, Katja @ Little Blossoms for Jesus, & add the tag graphic. Done!
Answer the questions. I’ll try.
Tag someone, or several someones—you choose!—and let them know they’re tagged. Um, yeah. Sure.
Add a clean copy of the questions + the rules at the end of your post for the tagged. Check

#MondayMotivation: Share a quote/hymn/verse/book, etc, that motivates you in some way.

Here are a few that have been inspirational to me over the years. I can’t share everything or we’d be here a lot longer than you want.
“It’s the work done that counts, not the praise that follows.” ~ Captain Scott
“Live for the glory of God and the good of many.” ~ Life motto of Mr. H. Gratton Guinness
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

#TopicTuesday: Tell about a topic you’re passionate or fascinated about.

Family, adoption, fostering. All three are topics that are close to my heart. You’ll also find those quite often in the books and stories I write.

#WednesdayWisdom: Give a lesson you’ve learned recently or throughout the years.

Don’t expect the strength for tomorrow to be given to you today. God gives strength one day at a time, and sometimes it comes moment by moment. But it’s always there if we ask.

#ThursdayThoughts: Explain the why behind (one of) your hobby(ies).

Dare I mention this hobby? It started this year. I could mention things like hand quilting, or violin playing, but who wants to know about those? Okay, my newest hobby is . . . answering spam calls. Why? Uh, because it’s rather fun, and if I can keep them on the phone a little while they don’t have as much time to try and scam some older person who would believe them. Besides, I have had some very funny conversations. Being told I sound like I’m 19-20 and then after saying, “that’s a compliment” being told it wasn’t a compliment. Wasn’t that rude? 😀 I was also told to “Go sleep!” by a disgusted spam caller who refused to tell me if Baltimore, MD was a nice city. (He said that’s where he was.)

#FlashbackFriday: Talk about one of your best memories.

Hmm, this is too open ended. Best memories of what? Writing? Life in general? As a kid? I’m going to have to think about this one. Be back in a bit.
–Meeting my best friends the day after I turned 6. (We’re still best friends over 30 years later.)
–My brother’s wedding
–The births of my nieces and nephews
–Spending my first 30 Christmases with my aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents
–Seeing my name on the cover of a printed book for the first time
And I could go on and on. So many memories. So many things through the years that have impacted my life.

#ShoutoutSaturday: Name someone who supported or encouraged you in some way.

My grandparents. My grandma was always a supporter of my books. She’d get each one and read it. My grandpa supported me, but didn’t really read anything until I dedicated a book to him. He read that book and really enjoyed it. Since then he’s read several others and likes to sit and talk with me about writing and how I write, and books he’s read, and lectures he’s gone to from or about different authors. I love it!

#SundayStyle: Show your favorite historical clothing style (i.e., 2010s, 1930s, 1750s, 1840s, 1620s…)

Impossible question! I love all sorts of styles of historical clothing! I actually have several outfits from different eras that are just fun to wear.

And there you have it. That was rather fun. If you have a blog and haven’t done this tag before, consider yourself tagged. Unless you are good at ducking away so I can’t tag you.

Here’s the easy copy-and-paste version if you are getting tagged.

Did any of my answers surprise you? Are you going to do this tag? You can answer the questions in a comment if you want. Do you have any odd hobbies?

Oh, that would be funny! I hadn’t thought of that. Hmm, I wonder which of my characters would answer spam calls.
You’re welcome! Thanks for creating it. 😀
