The Great Idea Quest

March 13, 2018 by readanotherpage 2 Comments

It was a beautiful morning, and the sun was just coming up. Grabbing my jacket, I slung my pack of food and water over my shoulder. Since there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, I decided a hat might be a good idea. I mean, I might be fine without it, but since I burn quite easily, well, I didn’t really want a sunburn.

It was time.
Time for the Great Quest.

I set out across the yard, notebook in one hand, pen in the other. I had to find them. At least some of them. If I didn’t, I would be sunk. It might not be over yet, but it sure felt like it would.
But just what was I looking for?

Ideas!

For stories?
Goodness, no! I have too many ideas for stories as it is. And I’m always getting more before I have to write the ones I already have. No, today’s quest was for other ideas.

Ideas to turn into blog posts.

Finding them may not be as easy as I thought for my brain snags an idea, but before I’ve had a chance to really look at it, off it flies like a butterfly and I am left with an empty net–I mean–blog post. When I’m off somewhere I think of ideas, but when I stop to write them down, they turn in to flat, rubbery pancakes that have been flipped too many times. If I do manage to hold on to an idea long enough to start a post, I discover I’m left with the thought and not much more.

Some people never seem to run out of ideas. They have long posts that make you think, they have short posts that leave you smiling, and they always seem to keep their readers coming back. What is their secret? How do they do it?

I’m on a quest to find out.

Join me as I check in with other bloggers and attempt to find out their secret. Do you they really have it together? Or are they like me, searching, struggling, trying to get something written before the deadline?

What about you? Do you blog? If so, where do you get your ideas? Would you like to share you thoughts about blogging with my readers?

Do you find them in a tree? Do you catch them in the sea? Are they green, or blue or red? Do you see them in your bed? Do your ideas go and come? Or does your brain just seem to hum?

This is definitely something to think about! Where do I find my blogging ideas? Well… I’ve written so many articles for Christian magazines I usually use those currently, but then I may read something by someone that inspires me and then I’ll write a new article. 🙂 I know that’s not that helpful… haha.
