Calendars Flip to 2026

January 7, 2026 by readanotherpage Leave a Comment

Here it is another year.

2025, you were a fast year even though I dropped a lot of things to slow down. I cut out blogging, cut back on Instagram, didn’t writing nearly as much, and tried to make time to relax and read. It was a year of fun and frustration, of work and wondering, of successes and struggles, of joyful days and just surviving days, of goals achieved and goals set aside. But it was a year that God was there. I spent an entire month without writing a single word in a single story. I spent a lot of hours working outside and got a lot more freckles and even a bit of tan. Those things were not in my goals for 2025, but they happened anyway.

These are the goals I had made for 2025:

  • Finish and publish The Red Heart Cafe (If it will ever end!) √ Finished and Published!
  • Finish and publish Katie Wood √ Finished and Published!
  • Publish something else √ Yep, got Hide and Seek finished and published!
  • Start getting the Woodbreak series on audio √ I started. Then my reader went AWAL and I haven’t gotten another reader.
  • Walk the Spring 100 with my sister and my best friends again √ Did that.
  • Write and publish a new Christmas Collection X No, I didn’t get that done this year.
  • Run and participate in 3 King’s Daughters’ Writing Camps √√√ Done!
  • Get enough followers and interaction on Instagram to get into a certain program
  • Send out a more regular Newsletter ?? I don’t remember if I sent them out more regularly or not.
  • Teach writing classes √ I only had one student last year, but that was okay.
  • Create and publish a new KDWC Journal √ Did that even though it didn’t really sell.

I also read 200 books last year which was fun. You can check out My Year in Books Here.

But now it’s 2026. I don’t know what the year holds. I’m not even really sure what sort of goals to put down, but here are some.

  • Write more Homewood stories and maybe publish them
  • Write and publish a Christmas Collection story
  • Work a few elections
  • Get more yard work and landscaping done
  • Run and participate in 3 KDWCs
  • Teach Writing Classes
  • Read 150 books
  • Just write and work on some of my many started stories
  • Promote one of my books a month
  • Walk the Spring 100 again

And that’s my goals. Will they happen? Some probably will, others I’m not sure about. I’m taking one day at a time. Will I start blogging regularly again? I don’t know. Right now I’d like to just blog when I feel like it or have something to share. Sticking to the same day every week doesn’t sound like fun, so random it will be. 🙂

What about you? Do you have goals or plans for this year? Did you accomplish your goals for 2025? Leave a comment and let me know.
