Today’s book may be hard to find as I don’t think it’s in print any longer. (I wish it was!) But if you can find it, you’ll probably enjoy it.
Kaatje and the Christmas Compass by Alta Halverson Seymour
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I loved Kaatje right from the start, even if she is a little impulsive. And I did like Karel even if he wasn’t very nice to his sister at first. I enjoyed seeing the growth in both Kaatje and Karel and their relationship with each other. And don’t forget Kees and the Golden Cheese.
Seeing Holland through the eyes of Kaatje was a delight and made me want to visit. I had to smile over their fun on Sinterklaas Eve. This author is wonderful about bringing Christmas traditions from other countries to life in her stories, and this book was no exception.
Have you read any books by Alta Halverson Seymour? I’ve shared about some that weren’t Christmas stories, though I just love every one of her Christmas books.

This book looks really interesting! Thanks for the review! 🙂
It is! 🙂 My pleasure!
