Welcome to the Five Fall Favorites 2025 edition! This is our 10 year anniversary of this fun and very bookish blog party! Come on in and let’s get started. If you’ve been here before, you probably have your bags, and wagons, and totes ready for the loads of books you are going to be adding to Mt. TBR. Or do you have a mountain range already?

Way back in 2016, Kate messaged me and asked if I’d be interested in helping her host a blog party of books. I jumped in with, “Sure!” And thus the Five Fall Favorites was born. That first year we shared two genres a day! It was a bit much we decided, so after that we stuck with just one genre a day.
The first three years, Kate and I co-hosted the party together. Then she needed to step aside so I hosted it without her for three years. When I needed to step back, Kate was ready to step in and take over for another three years. Now on our tenth year, we are co-hosting once again.
This year is going to be slightly different. We had so many bloggers want to be a part that we’ve divided them all into teams. I will be linking to Kate’s blog plus all the members of my Team Oak. Kate will have all the other teams linked on her blog. (See, I get the intros and she gets the links. 🙂 ) I hope you will stick around and visit all the blogs. And don’t forget to enter the giveaway!
If you are new, here’s the basic rundown. Check out my books. Visit the blogs on my team. Head over to Kate’s blog (link on a cute image below) to find her books, and then set off on a bookish adventure to all the other teams and blogs and watch your TBR stack grow!

Have you ever read a book and just wished there was another one about those characters? I know the genre today was supposed to be the Top 5 Books I’ve Recommended during other FFF events, but since I did my best to share different books, and I wanted to share this genre anyway, I’m doing my alternate right now! 😀 I hope you don’t mind.

The Accidental Cases of Emily Abbott
by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick
I NEED the next book! Please! Exciting, fun, hilarious, tense, and not too long to read it all in one sitting (or two if you need a break). Just the right mix of everything to make this a great series . . . Except I need the next book!

Campbell Family
by Janet Lambert
I adore this family! Growing up on a houseboat and traveling the world, speaking multiple languages, and then suddenly winding up in America and trying to figure out how to fit in with others your age are all things that make this such a delight. I wish there was another book in the series so I could find out what happened next.

Blue Ribbon Winner
by Nancy Hartwell
I love this sweet story! It’s not really a horse story, but it’s not a romance either. It’s just a coming of age story with so much heart in it! The ending is great and things wrap up well, but . . . I wanted more! I want to find out what happens in the spring, in the next four years, after that.

Second Family
by Angie Thompson
This isn’t a long story, but it’s so warm and full of love. I wanted to find out what happens next to this family. Yes, that’s a hint, a request, a plea for more.

Runaway Alice and Ready-Made Family
by Frances Salomon Murphy
I don’t know how many times I’ve read these two books, but each time I reach the end I want more! I want to know more about Alice and Charlie, and I want to find out about Hedwig, Peter and Mary Rose. All these children have the same case worker and there is a mention of Alice and Charlie in Ready-Made Family but not enough to satisfy.
And those are my Top 5 Books that I need Sequels for! Ready to collect more books for your To Be Read mountain? Then head over to these other blogs!
Giveaway Time!
You do NOT want to miss this year’s giveaway! We will have two winners this year since we have so many bloggers! So be sure you get your entries in. Some you can do every day.

Did you find any books you haven’t read? Any that you have read? Any that you would add to this genre? I’d love to know!

Yay for a huge book party! I’ve been looking forward to it (though I see it’s going to take a while to get through a mountain of blog post recommendations even before I make my own TBR mountain!) I’m glad you’re able to help host this year.
FYI, the giveaway button links to a big Google doc book list instead.
CutePolarBear/Hanna
Oh, I know! It’s going to take quite a LONG time to get through all the blog posts to add books to your TBR mountain! 😀
And thanks for the headsup about the giveaway link! Not sure what happened there, but it’s fixed.
The Giveaway look sweet! Is it open to residents outside the USA?
Yes, the giveaway is open to anyone, even those outside the US. 🙂
Ooh, that’s awesome to hear! 😀 yay <3
So glad to have you back!!! And happy 10th anniversary of FFF!!
We definitely need the next Emily Abbot book. And a sequel to Second Family would be so fun! I haven’t read any of the others, but adding them all to my TBR now!
Hard to believe it’s been 10 years!
Yep, I’m hoping for another Emily Abbott and a sequel to Second Family. And yes, you should read the other books if you can get your hands on copies of them!
YAYY, IT’S BACK!
also, I agree. Second Family could have a great sequel. *nudges Angie whenever she shows up*
And the other books look really good, I have to check them out… that’s becoming a recurring phrase today XD
Yep, it’s back! And my TBR stack is hiding. 😀
Maybe with these nudges Angie will decide to give us a sequel. One can always hope, right? 😉
Yeah, it seems to be the FFF phrase. How many times are we going to use it this week? XD
Oh yes, I would love a sequel to Second Family! And Emily Abbot, of course 😉 I haven’t read any of the other books, but they all sound like they would be right up my alley!
I think you would enjoy the rest of these books, Ems. 😀
I haven’t read any of these books, but the Campbell Family sounds interesting!
It’s a fun series to read, and I hope you can enjoy it! 😀
These book series sound delightful—more to add to my TBR!
Oh, yay! Happy to help grow your TBR stack. 😉
All of the books that I have added to my TBR so far today are from your recommendations. I love vintage books!
I do too! There’s just something about the older styles that never grows old! I hope you enjoy the books, Amelia.
I agree we need another Emily Abbott book (or several). Thanks for hosting with me, Rebekah!
Yes, yes, yes! I’d love several more Emily Abbott books! Like maybe 10 or so. 😉
You’re most welcome! It’s fun to co-host this with you again.
Ready-Made Family was AWESOME!!!
Very underappreciated book. I think Blue Ribbon Winner also looks like… well… a winner (for me)!!
It is! Very few people have read Ready-Made Family! And yes, Blue Ribbon Winner is such a delight!
Help! I have no ideas for a Second Family sequel–and too many other ideas to even keep up with! 🫣 But I appreciate the compliment. 😊
Well, since I’ve been in the same boat with some of my own stories, I suppose we’ll let you off the hook. But I stand by my statement that I would like to read more. 😀
I’ve read some of the Emily Abbott books, but I haven’t read any of the others. Time to add to my TBR mountain!!
Your TBR mountain was probably needing more books anyway, right? 😉
YES! Must have more Brent and Emily!
Totally agree! 😀
*Sighs*. And so it begins. *Starts adding books to TBR stack that’s already threatening to take over the world*
Great recs!
Yes, yes. I fear you might have a mountain range before this is over.
Seeeriously, we need the next Emily Abbot books.
Yes, yes, yes!!!
I’m trying to catch up on everyone’s posts so here’s me commenting so late heh heh but lovely post and here’s to continue adding to my ever longer TBR list 😀
Hey, late is better than not at all, right? And I’m sure you needed a taller TBR stack. *hands Olivia the handle to an extra wagon* Have fun!
Ha! Don’t we all though? -glances fondly at the pile- Oooo wagons are always a good idea!
