Happy Wednesday and welcome to another full day of the Five Fall Favorites! Did you make it through yesterday without any bag handles breaking under the weight of your new books? I have a couple extra wagons if you need to borrow them. Come on, let’s go look at books together! If you need a snack, I have some apple pie here. Help yourself.
If you are new, here’s the basic rundown. Check out my books. Visit the blogs on my team. Head over to Kate’s blog (link on a cute image below) to find her books, and then set off on a bookish adventure to all the other teams and blogs and watch your TBR stack grow!

This is a genre I know a lot of people don’t read. They either think all Non-Fiction is boring, equate it with school and so are convinced they shouldn’t like it, or just don’t want to take the chance that they might like something that is Non-Fiction. But I like it. I don’t read as much of it as I do fiction, but there are biographies, Christian living, history, and so much more! It was a struggle to decide just which of these books I was going to share.

Adorned
by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth
I read this book at the beginning of the year and it was SO good! Some things I’d already known, but some things I hadn’t even thought about. I would definitely recommend reading it if you haven’t.

Opened Treasures
by Frances Ridley Havergal
Good for every day of the year, or just for now and then when you need a bit of encouragement or challenge. The devotionals are very short. Just the right size to read in a minute or two and give you something to ponder and think about for the rest of the day.

Reminisce Books
Edited by Mike Beno
I absolutely love these books! I have a whole collection of them, and they are such fun to read! Filled with stories of the people who actually lived and grew up, and fell in love, and fought wars in those years. They are full of stories and pictures and even old ads.

Lost in the Middle
by Paul David Tripp
As someone who isn’t considered a “young person” anymore, this book was encouraging and challenging at the same time. It helped me understand some things a little better.

Seven from Heaven
by Kenny & Bobbi McCaughey
I remember when these septuplets were born. Their book is a story of God’s amazing gifts not only of seven babies, but of the grace and strength to say no to the pressure of others who thought they should kill some of the babies before they were even born. It’s a story of hope and family. I need to go reread it.
So, have you read any of these Non-Fiction books? Any of them look like ones you want to add to your TBR stack?
Giveaway Time!
You do NOT want to miss this year’s giveaway! We will have two winners this year since we have so many bloggers! So be sure you get your entries in. Some you can do every day.

Are you a non-fiction reader? Do you sometimes read non-fiction but not often? Do you have a favorite non-fiction book? Maybe a biography or a how-to book? Or a devotional or something else? Please share!

Oooh I need to get the Frances Ridley Havergal daily book! And the Adorned one looks great too. Nonfiction is my favourite genre and these are some great recs
Yes, both of those books are well worth getting and reading!
I didn’t know Havergal had a devotional! Also, Adorned looks really good… all of these do, really. And I need to borrow a wagon, if you don’t mind!
*brings Katja an empty wagon to borrow* Yep, Havergal has a devotional. And it’s so good! If you can get it and Adorned, do it! They are worth it.
I have you to thank, Rebekah, for introducing me to the Reminisce books! I have a nice collection myself, and if I have opportunities to buy more, I try to take them. 😉
Hanna
You’re most welcome, Hanna! 😀 There is just something about those books that make them fun, interesting, and good for story ideas and research.
I haven’t read any of these books, but they all look interesting! I think my mom has a copy of Adorned, so I may have to give it a try sooner rather than later.
You should! It’s so good!
I haven’t read any of these, but the one by Frances Ridley Havergal looks good! My family read a biography of her and really enjoyed it!
If you’ve read a biography of Frances Ridley Havergal, you should try the devotional.
I LOVE Reminisce! So many good stories about life way back when. They are always good for a laugh too. 🙂
I have read “Seven From Heaven” more than once, it’s really good.
Yes, Reminisce is such fun! 😀 And glad to find someone else who has read and enjoyed “Seven from Heaven.”
I loved the Reminisce books and magazines growing up!
Me too! I was first introduced to the magazines at my grandma’s house in PA. She discovered I liked them and got me a subscription for Christmas. Now I love the books.
I’ve never heard of any of these! *stacks wagon higher*
*quietly adds sides to Lydsie’s wagon so her new books don’t topple out*
I added Open Treasures. And I’ll take a spare wagon, please and thanks.
Here you are, Virginia! I figured some people would need wagons for all their books or else they’ll end up with serious back problems. 😉
Adorned, Open Treadures, and When Families Made Memories Together all are making it to my to-be-read stack. Thank you, Rebekah! I am here from Bethany’s blog http://www.arubyintherough.com
Welcome, Luba! Happy to have you. Those are all great books to add to your TBR stack. 😀
Are the Reminisce books kinda like the Chicken Soup for the Soul? I’ve never heard of any of these either! Good stuff!
Um, I’m not sure. I’ve never read any Chicken Soup for the Soul books. The Reminisce are glossy pages, full of real stories the readers of Reminisce magazine sent in. Some have pictures, some don’t. They usually divide each book into “chapters” with a different topic in each one. They are such fun to read!
Oh gotcha! It does sound similar. I’ll have to look into those!
