Writing. A lot of that happened last month. Actually, I wrote about 3 months worth of words just last month. Yep, I was able to get 60,000 words written in March. That’s about as many words as are in a Triple Creek Ranch book!
But no, I didn’t write them all on the same thing. Wouldn’t that have been exciting?
So, what did I work on? Let me tell you.
- Monday’s Mystery (working title) – I didn’t get much done on this story as I’m not sure what comes next, but I did make a little progress on it.
- Kelsey (name of MC) – I haven’t worked on this story in a very long time! It was so much fun to get back to the characters! Some of you might remember reading about Kelsey, Lottie, Zoe, and all the rest of them in some of my Friday posts a couple years ago.
- Nan’s Ice Cream Shop – This story actually had some good progress and I feel there was a breakthrough so that was exciting. I do need to go back and do some editing.
- A Place Called Home – I didn’t work a whole lot on this story, but it is slowly growing. And I do love Adam, Alicia, and April! Such a fun sibling trio.
- Western Mystery (uh, I don’t even have a working title for this story!) – This one grew and expanded in ways I didn’t see coming. I thought I would bring in another character from another of my books, but I’m not sure if I can or not. It would be rather fun if I could. Who do you think it would be? Or maybe I should ask, who would you like to see?
- 4th of July Story (this is a boring working title–I need help) – This story has grown and changed and expanded. Not exactly sure where it’s heading or how long it’s going to be, but it’s rather fun. So far the reader (and writer) have not left one room. Other people come and go, but not the story.
- Christmas Collection 2024 Story (don’t have a title for it yet) – I was able to finish writing this story and hand it over to my editor. I like it when I can get these stories written early in the year. Now I need to work on finding a cover image. Motorcycles in the snow?
- Valentine’s Day in Arizona (pitiful working title since I’m not even sure Valentine’s Day will be in the story anymore) – I randomly started this story and have had some fun with it as I’m using the MC from one of my Christmas novellas. It’s supposed to have some romance in it, but I don’t know how that is all going to play out. And I don’t think it’s a mystery, but there are some not so nice people in it.
- Katie Wood – Sorry, I only got a little bitty bit of this story written last month. It just wasn’t the kind of story that generated a lot of words and when you are trying to get lots of words to reach your writing goal at camp, some stories get set aside for others.
- Accidental Story (not the title–I don’t have one yet) – This was an accidental story I wrote all of in one week. I wanted something new and different and some of the girls at camp gave me random ages and names, settings, themes and a season. I started writing and I just didn’t stop. It ended up being about 15k words long and it’s all in first person. That’s a bit odd as I seldom write in first person. Yes, I do plan to publish it, but in a collection, so you’ll have to wait a bit, I’m afraid.
- Trip to the Candy Shop – This is just a short 3k story. It is on my Friday blog this month. It was just a random short story for a Motivational Meadow story prompt.
I also started another short story but only got a few hundred words into it. I think it’s boring. I might not finish it. So there you have it. I’ve worked on 11, well, I guess it’s actually 12 stories last month. I finished one of them, and made good progress on some others, and a little bit of progress on the rest. Now I need to figure out what I should work on now. Any suggestions?
Do you tend to work on multiple stories in a month? Or are you the kind of person who works on just one story until it’s finished? If you are a reader, which of these stories are you most eager for me to finish? And yes, you may pick more than one.

Wow, 11-12 stories? That’s so cool you got to work on so many last month. I’m more of a one-story-at-a-time person XD. Anyway, all of these stories have definitely piqued my interest!

I don’t usually work on that many in a month even if I happen to have that many (or more) started. But this month I did. Sometimes I wish I could just stick with one story at a time. 😀
Well, it’s nice to know that all the stories made you interested. Now I won’t feel pressured to work on any certain ones. 😉
