Writing Update

March 2, 2021 by readanotherpage 16 Comments

Did you realize I haven’t given you a proper update on my writing since . . . Uh, 2018?!?!

Let’s get that fixed right now!

So many stories. So many ideas. So many days I’m writing and then other days I just don’t want to write a thing! Ever feel that way? Well, I’m trying to be more consistent in writing because I have a few things I’m working on.

Novels/Novellas:

  • Lawrence & Lenexa – I made some really great progress on this story, but it’s been moved to the back burner again.
  • Phil Wood – Yep, the next story in the Woodbreak series is in the works. Stay tuned.
  • Don Wood – And yes, this is Book 5 of Woodbreak. I have the idea, but I can’t start until Phil Wood is done.
  • Graham Quartet Untitled – Maybe I shouldn’t mention this story here. I haven’t started writing it, but I do have an idea for it that feels right.
  • Kelsey – I haven’t gotten much work on this story for a while.

Pocket Books:

  • Thanksgiving Story – I have a good start on this story and would love to get it finished and published in time for Thanksgiving.
  • Rhode Island Story – I’m liking this story, but I don’t know when it will end or what will happen. I hope it will be long enough for a pocket book.

Short Stories:

  • Dancing with Fireflies – I’d love to get this story finished and published soon. Perhaps by the time the fireflies start coming out to dance.
  • Untitled Easter Story – This story has been started, but we’ll see if I can get it finished this year.
  • Beyond Comfort – I might try to get this story published this year. If I can find a good cover image.

Christmas Stories:

  • Christmas Gifts – This story has been written, the synopsis is done, and it should be released later this year as the 2021 Christmas Collection story.
  • Her Name was Holly – I just need to figure out the ending of this story. It’s missing something, and I’m not sure what.

Other Book Projects:

  • Anything – Some of the writers from the King’s Daughters’ Writing Camp thought it would be fun to all write stories that fit the title “Anything” and see how different they all are. I’m compiling them, Erika is going to edit and publish them.

What are your writing projects? Are you excited about any certain stories I mentioned? Do you think I need to add any other stories? Wait, pretend I didn’t ask that.

Those books and stories sound so interesting! I hope you can get back to Lawrence and Lenexa soon πŸ™‚
I am so, so exited about the Woodbreaks! Do you have any idea yet how long it will be until Phil Wood is published? I can’t wait! πŸ˜ƒ

Thanks for your enthusiasm, Lydia! πŸ˜€
Right now I’m not sure when “Phil Wood” is coming out. I haven’t decided if I should wait until I can release “Phil” and “Don” at the same time, or if I should do them as they get finished. πŸ™‚ But right now “Phil Wood” is approximately 2/3 of the way written.

I’m so excited for all of these!!!

I wrote an Anything story, but it ended up being a spoiler to one of my tbw books so…πŸ˜‡

I’m currently working on 3 this month, two must remain anonymous but the other is The Battlefield is Silent πŸ’šπŸ’” it’s the 5th book in my series…and it’s by far the hardest book in this series… It’s breaking my heart. And it’s personal. And I’m scared of publishing it to be honest πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Oh, now I’m excited to read your story. πŸ˜‰

Ah, well, anonymous books still count. Last year I worked on a Secret Project for quite some time, so you are entitled to a few unnamed stories. πŸ˜‰

I’m just hoping I can actually get the GQ story written.
