I can’t believe it’s the last day!
Wow, it’s hard to believe today is the day we clean things up and leave the Literary Lodge. We could use a hand if you’re willing. The boats all need checked to make sure no one left any books in them. I think I saw a backpack near the bonfire. Does anyone claim that? And all the bikes need ridden out to the barn and parked inside. Make sure you check the baskets for books before you leave them. Oh, and check the barn loft! I think several people were reading up there late one night, so they might have missed a book or two. Does someone want to help carry all the benches to the barn? Yes, we store them in there through the winter. Sure, you can help collect blankets. A couple came in from the orchard with the bushels of apples. They will probably all need shaken and folded. The blankets, not the apples. It’s so hard to pack things up! Hey! Someone left their little red wagon that is full of books. I saw it parked on the porch last night and so brought it inside. Is it yours? No? There’s another stack of books near the fireplace, maybe those are yours. And someone said there were a few books in the kitchen. Grab a snack while you are in there.
The buttons to the other party rooms are down below like usual. But before you head down, can I say a few things?
*steps to porch railing and looks down at all the book lovers*
Thank you all for coming! I hope you had as delightful a time as Sarah and I did in hosting it! I did want to say a special thank you to Sarah for co-hosting this event with me. *applause* She was great to work with in planning our genres, and other things. She also put together the delightful Grand Prize basket. *loud applause and cheers* Special thanks goes to Abigail Harris who kindly donated the mug for the basket! (Make sure you check out her mom’s Etsy shop.) And thank you to the rest of our Five Fall Favorites team: Mikayla, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Erika, Kassie, Tarissa, Grace, and Lauren. We couldn’t have done it without you all! And a huge thanks to you, the participants who make this party worthwhile. Your enthusiasm and excitement over this annual event is a great motivation to continue it. π
The winners will be announced down at the bottom of the post where the Grand Prize is listed. If the winners are not listed yet, make sure you come back. And don’t forget to check out the final posts from each of our bloggers. All of them are posting today! Be sure to leave them a comment and tell them how much you enjoyed the party. And yes, one of them is the Books room and has a free kindle book for you!
Oh, two more things. First, here’s a pdf download of all the Top 5 books shared this year. If you are like me, you have found books you want to read, but won’t be able to remember them all next week let alone two months from now, nor will you have time to go back and find all these posts again.
The second thing is that there are some books that are $.99, or Free today. To find these books, click on the images on the left. These are all books by current participants of the Five Fall Favorites party, or former participants.
Now enjoy the rest of the day and your stay at the Literary Lodge.
Top 5 for 2019
I’ll admit right nowβthis was hard. I’ve read so many books this year that narrowing my favorites to just 5 felt almost impossible. Not only did I have too many to choose from, but I couldn’t remember which books I’d read this year! Thankfully I could go check on Goodreads. But here they are. My Top 5. At least right now. I still have 3 more months to read. *rubs hands gleefully*
Speak Truth in Your Heart by Sarah Mally
If I could only recommend one book to people this year, this book would be it. I don’t care if you never read non-fiction, this should be an exception. It is FULL of truth, and stories to illustrate. It will make you think. But in a good way. So, if you don’t get any other book, get this one and read it!
Emily Abbott series by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick
This is a series of novellas. A series that makes you want to pick up the next book and keep reading. I so enjoyed reading these books this summer. I found myself laughing and sitting on the edge of my chair within seconds of each other. So, if you need an exciting, humorous set of stories, read these. They are clean!
Wedding Score by Amanda Tero
When I first heard of this book about an older girl who wasn’t married, I knew I wanted to read it. Especially since Amanda had written it. It was a story that rang true in every single aspect! If you are an unmarried young lady, I would recommend you read it. And if you are a married lady, I’d recommend you read it so you can see what your unmarried friends are dealing with at times.
Finding Change by Sarah Maxwell
This was so different than the Moody series by the same author, yet it had the same wholesomeness about it that I enjoyed. There were light moments, more serious moments, and a strong Christian message.
Explore Viking Realms by Terri Johnson
Okay, I know this is a “school book” but I loved it! The author did such a great job of making me feel as though I was traveling through these countries with her, eating different foods, staying in interesting places, and exploring other lands. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I read two other books in the same series.
Are you ready to visit all the other Party Rooms for the last time? Have fun and don’t forget to let everyone know how much you enjoyed their posts. Oh, and these will open in a new tab, so don’t worry, you won’t get lost in the acres of land around the Literary Lodge. π
