Hello again! Welcome back! I’m so glad you decided to brave the cold and come find some more books.
The cold hasn’t lifted but there is stacks of firewood heaped near the bonfires. And we have blankets you can take out there as well as plenty of hot drinks. Just stop by the kitchen and help yourself. Be careful if you go out in the boats as the lake is rather rough, but you are welcome to just sit in them while they are tied up if you would feel safer. If you want a cozy spot to curl up with a book, try the loft in the barn. However, if you and your friend are feeling energetic, grab some of the bikes and ride through the delightful fall woods. There are plenty of benches to rest on along the way. Of course if you want to pack a backpack full of books, you might want to just hike. The path out to the orchard is just lovely and you might come across some empty bushel baskets. If so, bring them back and stacks your books in there. As you can see, there are many ways to spend your time here at the Literary Lodge, and don’t be shy, if you need something, just ask.
If you haven’t been here before, the giveaway is down below, and so are the buttons to the other party rooms. Be sure to visit them all as there are some great books being recommended, and one of them is offering a FREE kindle book!
And don’t forget, this is the last day to enter the giveaway! Be sure you invite your family and friends because if we get 75 people entered into the giveaway, we’ll add a 2nd place winner!
Instructional Non-Fiction
Some people don’t think they’ll enjoy non-fiction books, but just because a book is non-fiction doesn’t mean it’s not good. Today we’ll be sharing some favorite Instructional Non-Fiction books with you. You might want to check them out.

The Emotion Thesaurus by Angela Ackerman & Becca Puglisi
If you are a writer, this book is for you. I’ve used it so many times when I am trying to figure out how a character is feeling and acting during a certain situation. Very handy and recommended.
How To Get Your First Ten Book Reviews by Mark Dawson
Once again, if you are an author and are trying to get some reviews on your books, you might try this book. It was short and concise without a lot of extra stuff you had to wade through.
Money Making Mom by Crystal Paine
Perhaps you are not a mom but you are trying to find ways to earn money, check this book out. It’s good even if you aren’t a mom, and there are many suggestions and thoughts and ideas just waiting for you. And Crystal’s writing style is engaging.
Finding a Job You Can Love by Ralph T. Mattson & Arthur F. Miller Jr.
This book made me think. Was I really supposed to be a writer? What are the things I absolutely love doing and have loved doing all my life. It helps you evaluate your interests to see what your passionate about and how God has prepared you for the perfect job even when you were young .
Making Books and Journals by Constance E. Richards
This book is so much fun! It teaches you how to make all different kinds of books and journals. I’ve made many of them and each one has had clean instructions, and turned out beautifully. If you are someone who enjoys making things, try this book.

I love your comment that just because a book is non-fiction doesn’t mean it isn’t a good book! Growing up, I read very little besides fiction, but as a adult I am increasingly enjoying non-fiction books!

Yes! I know that some times people tend to think of non-fiction books as dull and boring. Sometimes that is true, but there are so many good non-fiction books!
Ruthann Joy says
Yeah, so I’ve had the same idea about non-fiction being boring, but have come to the same conclusion that all of them aren’t😉 These books look really good!!

Yes, I think we get that mistaken idea in school sometimes when we only want to read exciting stories instead of the other school books. 😉
