Yesterday was my birthday. I wanted to do something fun, like a tag! I found this one on Kate Willis’s delightful blog, and since it looked fun, I decided I’d grab it..
Count your birthday along your bookshelf and then subtract your birth month.
Which shelf shall I do it on? I could do it on every single shelf and you’d get a whole lot of books. But that might be too many. So . . . I counted one shelf and it had exactly the number of my birthday. (It’s a small shelf.) And the book I ended up with is Ready Made Family which is one I love.
If you could spend your birthday with any fictional character who would it be and why?
Hmm, tough question. Is it cheating to say I’d want to go hang out with one of my own characters for a day? It’s not? Great! Then I would like to head to Homewood and spend the day with Aunt Peggy and eat cookies with her and learn from her wisdom and visit with Trisha and Hope, and walk to the grocery store and get to meet Peggy Ann, Officer Quincey, Aunt Magda, and so many other folks from that little town.
Find a book that takes place in the season you were born in.
Okay, let’s see. I need to pick a book that takes place in spring. That won’t be hard. The part that is difficult is deciding which book or books to share. I’m going to go with Spring with Moodys, Spring Days with the Moodys, and Mountain Born. I’m sure I could pick other books since I didn’t even look on my kindle.
Find a book the color of your birthstone.
This might be a challenge as my birthstone is diamonds. Okay, I have found two books I think fit. One is A Homewood Christmas which is rather white and has a lot of snow on it and snow is supposed to look like diamonds, right? The other is The Sound of Diamonds. This cover is more blue and some brown, but there is a blue diamond, so it could count, plus it has diamond in the title.
Pick a book set in a time period, world, or country you would like to have been born in.
I’ve been blessed to be born where and when I am, and while I would like to travel to some other places, I think I’ll stick with my own time and country.
What book or bookish thing do you want for your birthday?
Books! I want books! The top books being Emily Abbott #9, Dunstan: The Making of a Man, Through the Darkness, and Callie. And other books by authors I love.
And there you have it. The Birthday Book Tag. I hope you enjoyed it! Happy birthday all fellow April birthday holders! And if anyone wants to do this tag, feel free.
What book would you like to get for your birthday or just because? Do you usually get books for special occasions or not?
