My Top 5 books…
(Why must people start out with impossible questions like this? These books are subject to spontaneous and continuous changes.)
And now the questions!
1. If you could pick one fictional character as your sibling, who would it be?
A fictional sibling, huh? I have no clue. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever really thought of pretending or imagining a character in a book as a sibling. I guess I’ll have to just move on to the next question.
2. What’s a strong opinion you have about a trope/opinion/anything else lacking in books, especially Christian fiction?
One thing I’ve found in many “Christian” books is the lack of Christ in the book. Yeah, maybe the characters don’t swear or act immoral, but they also have no relationship with God. Oh, they might go to church on Sundays, and maybe pray if things are really bad, but that’s it. I wish more books had characters who had a relationship with Christ, who lived like being a Christian was who they are not a set of clothes to wear on Sunday. No, this doesn’t mean I want preachy books, I just want real ones!
3. What’s a book you didn’t expect to like but fell head over heels in love with?
I don’t remember falling head over heels in love with a book before. Yes, there are some that I really like, but I don’t think I’ve ever been a “this is the BEST book ever! You HAVE TO READ IT!” sort of person. With that being said, there are some books I didn’t really expect to like but did like them. One recent one was Emma and the Reasons.
4. What is your dream reading goal?
I don’t have one. I love reading, and it’s fun to read a lot of books, but I would rather enjoy my books and not see how many I can cram in to a year. This doesn’t mean I don’t try to get a lot read, I just don’t pick really high goals.
5. Favorite quote (or two ;P) about reading?
I’ll have to think on this one.
Okay, I found one.
“Reading takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere.” ~ Hazel Rochman
6. Your opinion on dust jackets??
I do like dust jackets. I know, I know, I’m probably one of those crazy readers who does, but I do. Unfortunately, most of my books don’t have the jackets on them because they were used books. There are occasions when I will discard the dust jacket if it is all torn up and the rest of the series doesn’t have them. But I also like books without dust jackets. I won’t turn a book down because it does or doesn’t have a dust jacket.
7. Your favorite book spine(s)?
Ones that are still holding the pages together.
That wasn’t what you meant? Sorry, I have never really thought about book spines in any other way. Either they are doing their job of holding the book together, or they are not.
8. Do you like to eat while reading?
Uh, no. I either eat before or after I read. I used to occasionally read while eating lunch at the table, but not now.
9. Can you read with silence or music in the background?
I have to have silence. I can not listen to music or I get too distracted. Even people talking outside in the street distract me unless I’m really into the book.
10. What’s your favorite indie book? (‘Cause we gotta spread the love!)
Impossible question! I can not and will not attempt to pick a favorite indie book. However, I will give you some favorite Indie authors.
Sarah Holman
Amanda Tero
Angie Thompson
Hailey Rose
Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick

And there you have it. I managed to answer all the questions–after a fashion. I’m supposed to tag 4 people, but since I have no clue who had done this tag and who has not, and who wants to do it and who doesn’t, I will leave the tagging up to you. If you decide you want to be tagged, consider it done. Just answer the same questions because I can’t think of any others at the moment. And if you’ll let me know when you post your answers, I’ll try to make it over to read them.
I hope you enjoyed this question and answer tag. Do you plan on doing this tag? Have you already done it? What was your favorite answer?
