I discovered this fun blog tag–excuse me, it’s a book tag–on Kate’s lovely blog, and since she said anyone could steal it–wait, is it stealing if you have permission?–I thought you all might enjoy reading my answers.
An author that you’d like to read (that you’ve never read before).
Well, hmm . . . I have many books on my kindle by authors I’ve never read before. As to which one I want to read . . . All of them? Or I at least want to try them. Sometimes I don’t like new authors, and other times I do.
A book you’d like to read.
A Penny Parcel. It’s been on my TBR list for years but I never could get a copy. A few days ago it became available on Paperback Swap and I’m eagerly waiting for it to arrive.
A classic you’d like to read.
I grew up reading classics. Well, not Jane Austin, and I don’t want to read her books. But what makes a classic? Could it be a re-read? If so, I have several on my shelf I’d like to read again.
A book you’d like to re-read.
Any of the Pansy books would be good.
A book you’ve had for ages and want to read.
Good grief! I can’t think of a book I’ve had for ages that I want to read and just haven’t. Maybe there’s one on our bookshelves downstairs that I’ve forgotten about. I’ll have to go searching.
A big book you’d like to read.
Big book. Big book. Is that like a Big Book of kids stories? Or maybe a book that is large in size, as in maybe 11×8.5 inches? Or are we talking a BIG BOOK for adults that has lots of pages? I don’t know if I have any of those on my list to read. Of course I have a lot of books on my kindle, and I have no idea how many pages any of them would be if I had the paperback version, and I’m not going to go look them all up just to answer this question.
An author you’ve previously read and want to read more of.
I want to read more of Angie Thompson’s books, and Sarah Holman’s books, and Perry Kirkpatrick’s books , and Isabella Alden’s books and. . .
A book you got for Christmas and would like to read.
I already read one of them. Does that count? It was The Hope We Hold by Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo. And it was good.
A series you want to read from start to finish.
The Accidental Cases of Emily Abbott. Yes, I’ve read the first 8 of them at least three time, but I want to read the whole series again. And read book 9 as soon as it’s out.
Do you set reading goals? If so, how many books do you want to read in 2023?
I do. I have a goal of reading 150 books this year. I keep thinking I won’t read as many and I set a lower goal, but it seems that each year I end up raising my goal, and so I thought I’d just start with 150 this year and see what happens.
Any other reading goals?
I want to read some non-fiction books and biographies this year. I was going to last year and forgot, so this year I’m going to try and make that happen.
And there you are! I hope you enjoyed it. If you want to do this tag, consider this an open invitation to grab the questions and answer them on your own blog, or if you want, in a comment.
Do you have books planned that you want to read this year? Or do you just pick up whatever sounds good next? Did you make any reading goals?
[…] I decided to do this tag as well because Rebekah & Kate did. Even if it is January […]
