It’s time for another Read Another Page Reading Challenge!
What would a blog with a title like Read Another Page be without reading challenges?
I’m not sure. 🙂
Some of you may have already seen the new page with the Reading Challenge, so I’m not going to completely repeat myself here. You can go and read the rules, and all that over there. Instead I’m going to answer a few questions and tell you why I chose this kind of reading challenge.
Ready?
I wanted a reading challenge that would challenge me. I have many books on my TBR list that just aren’t getting read. I want to reread some old favorites, but seem to be constantly reading new books. And I wanted to make sure I fit in some non-fiction books. I also didn’t want to make this challenge too easy by allowing any book to be a short story. 😉 I mean come on, this is supposed to be a Challenge! Right?
Here’s the quick list of books to read. Unless they are specified as “Short Story” they must be a few chapters in length.
3 Short Stories
A book a parent recommends with NO input from you! [This means that you can request a parent to recommend a book to you, but you are not allowed to request certain types or genres. If they recommend a biography, then read it. If they recommend a fiction book, read it. 🙂 ]
A book that is at least 20 chapters long.
5 books from your TBR list [That should help get your stack down a little.]
A non-fiction, any genre [This can be anything really–biography, inspirational, how-to, etc.]
A biography
A biography of someone you know almost nothing about [I can’t wait to see what books you all come up with for this one!]
3 rereads [And yes, you can count rereads for other categories, you just can’t count the same book for two different categories.]
A book a friend recommends
A borrowed book [Can be borrowed from a friend, the library, a sibling, parent, anyone.]
A story that takes place outside the US (entirely) [This shouldn’t be too hard, right?]
A new-to-you author
A classic from the 1800s
An Indie published book
A book that has no more than 10 chapters
Self-improvement (any genre – writing, health, inspirational, etc.)
A book about something that happened in your lifetime [For those of you who are younger this might be more of a challenge, but I know you can find something because we are living history all our lives.]
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! And let me know if you are joining the Challenge!
