Wow! 2019 was one busy year!
The days seemed to melt faster than snowflakes on a warm, sunny day. But, before we get too far into the new year, let’s take a quick look at last year’s plans and what actually happened. As well as see if there was anything else of interest. Ready?
Goals from last year:
- Releasing Stories Through the Seasons β Released the book and the audio.
- Finishing and publishing Hymns in the Hills β Released the book.
- Teaching writing again β Had 8 students in January, and 9 in September.
Reading lessI did. I read 6 books fewer π . . . You can see my Year in Books here.- Hopefully finishing and publishing By Paths Unknown β Released the book.
- Publishing a new Christmas Collection story βββ Let’s make that 3 of them.
- Releasing 3 Audio books β
- Camp NaNo ββ Yep, did that twice.
- No Elections this year! π (Uh, I had 2 elections to work. Both small and slow.)
- More music specials for church β I’ve done a few.
Learning more about blogging, website building, and thing of that sort.I sort of forgot about that.
Writing:
January: 16,807
May: 5,402
September: 8,501
February: 14,253
June: 18,264
October: 9,055
March: 10,568
July: 27,347
November: 10,165
April: 35,538

Add those numbers up for a grand total of: 175,069 which is 35,993 words more than last year! Yay! I was wanting to write more than I did last year.
Other things of interest from 2019:
- I posted another 24 Christmas books in December
- Hosted the Five Fall Favorites blog party in October
- Found out a new niece is expected to arrive around my birthday in 2020
- Wrote and directed two Christmas plays for church
- Shared some “Why I Don’t Write” blog posts Fantasy, Romance, Cozy Mystery, Sc-Fi
- Got to know some younger fellow writers
- And lost a few months worth of days. π
And now onto 2020.
Goals for this year:
I’m excited for this year and all that it holds. It can be overwhelming when you think of all the confusion and hate going on in the world, but I know Who holds tomorrow. I know I can make plans and set goals, but ultimately it is God who will direct my ways.
- Finish writing “Lawrence and Lenexa”
- Finish writing “Kelsey’s Stories” (title is subject to change)
- Finish writing my secret project
- Get TCR-5 on audio
- Hopefully get a few other stories on audio
- Learn more about blogging, WordPress, and growing my site
- Work on marketing (something I’m not so good at)
- Read at least one non-fiction book a month
- Work 4 elections (It’s going to be a crazy election year!)
- Host Read Another Page’s new Reading Challenge (Come back next week for all the details)
- Do some online tutoring (for writing)
- Write and publish one new Christmas Collection book
And that is just a bit of what I’m hoping to work on this year!

This is great! I need to work on a list for myself. I definitely want to write more this year. I think I only wrote during Camps last year. Another thing is I want to keep in touch more with you all. I miss y’all! I need to get back to sprinting. Even if it’s the laundry – haha!

Make that list and let me read it! Sometimes letting someone else see and hold you accountable helps. π
And we miss you! Hey, sprinting laundry gets it done, right? π
