Letter from Camp – July 2024

July 16, 2024 by readanotherpage Leave a Comment

Dear Readers,

Here it is, camp time again! I’m writing to you from Tentalizing Tales where I have 15 campers. We’ve written and chatted and sprinted and eaten snacks, and encouraged each other. But overall it’s been a pretty quiet tent this time. I think part of that is because we are all busy with summer life as well as with camp.

Writing has been going well for me. I’ve written quite a bit on “Katie Wood” which has been nice. I’ve also made progress on my “Not Valentine’s story” and “Monday’s Mystery.” I was rather surprised that last one decided to ask to be worked on. It has been quiet for a long time and I really didn’t know where it was going. While I’ve been writing each day, I haven’t gotten a 2k day yet. I’m okay if that doesn’t happen since I’ve still raised my goal from 10k, to 15k, to 20k.

Oh, I wanted to share something with you! There’s a new collection of stories that just released from the pens of KDWC writers! This collection is titled No Clue. There’s a rather funny story behind the title. We were finishing up the Joy collection and someone asked me what the next collection was going to be about. I replied, “No clue.” And of course that person then wanted to know if we were all going to write mysteries. After a little discussion and laughter among the aunties, we decided to just go with it. And so . . . No Clue came about.

Isn’t the cover fun? I haven’t read all the stories yet, but I have read a few of them and they are fun. All the stories were required to include the words “No clue” which makes them even better.

Now I need to go. I have things to get done and words to write before I head off next week to work at the County Clerk’s Office until after the August election. I’d love to know what you are doing this summer. Bye!
