I thought you might be interested in seeing the old hymn books I used for the hymns in this book.
The one on the right I got from my grandma. (I think it was her grandmother’s.) And the other I found at a thrift store.
I don’t know if you can see or not, but the copyright date is 1876!
There are so many wonderful hymns in these old books, and I wish they were better known. Some are, but there are others just as good. Can you imagine what it would have been like to be at an old Gospel meeting where Ira D. Sankey let the singing?

Those look so cool! We have our own sizable collection of hymnbooks, though none that are that old. 😉 We like using ours to find new songs to sing–there are so many!

Yes! Another family with multiple hymnbooks! My sister and I are singing our way through each of our hymnbooks and it’s such fun to learn new hymns! I think we’re on our 6th book. I don’t know how many we have left. 😉

Most of my favourite hymns are by Elisha A. Hoffman. I have so many favourites I don’t think I can name one, though. 🙂
