What has happened? This year is disappearing faster than most years. I think it’s time I stopped and looked at what I’ve accomplished and what I still need to work on this year.
I had a goal to write and publish 12 short stories this year. So far I’ve managed to write and publish one each month.
And July’s is scheduled to publish on the 1st. I even have August’s story written though not edited and such. So I’m on track. √
After working really hard the end of last year to get two novels finished, formatted, and published before Christmas, and 8 small books for the Christmas Collection, I decided I wasn’t going to stress about writing this year, so I set some small goals.
I hoped to get Hymns in the Hills finished and published by the end of the year. It was going really well at the beginning of the year. Then another story, By Paths Unknown, jumped in and without so much as a, by your leave, shoved Hymns in the Hills aside and demanded I work on it. There really wasn’t much I could do except write it. Now I’m not sure if either story will be published by the end of the year. I guess I can’t check that off. (My mom is telling me to get them both written and published.)
Two Christmas stories are hoping to be published by the end of the year. Possibly a 3rd. We’ll see. One is a yes √ and the other is still a possibility. The 3rd? I don’t know.
But that’s all writing.
On other notes I am:
- Starting plans for the Five Fall Favorites blog party! √ (By the way, if you are interested in being one of the hosts for this year’s FFF party, sign up here. It’s not a commitment, just an interest, and we aren’t promising each person a place, but you will be considered.)
- Planning for teaching Writing Classes. √ (I have 9 students signed up.)
- Looking into the possibility of doing some half ghost writing/editing for someone.
- Compiling a book of letters my grandma wrote to her mother in the 80s. √
- Compiling a book of letters between my Grandparents before they were married. (Talk about sweet!) I’m working on this one.
- Getting 4 more of my books on audio. √
- Preparing for some Christmas in July posts and sales. Uh, yeah. I need to get started on those.
- Getting ready for Camp NaNo! *looks at calendar* *GULP* I’m not ready!
That’s all my bigger plans.
Don’t forget that the Reading Challenge is over THIS SATURDAY! Wow! I’m impressed by all the books you guys have read! If you haven’t finished yet, there is still a few more days! Next Tuesday I’ll announce the winner of the giveaway, so be sure to come back.

When is the Five Fall Favorites blog party? What all do you have to do for it?
Sounds like some good goals!

The Five Fall Favorites takes place either the last week in September, or the first week in October. This year I think we’re planning on the October dates. Basically what we do is have 6 certain genres and each person who is hosting shares their top 5 books in that genre. If there’s a genre they really haven’t read, they can chance that one to a different one. We have a giveaway, some free books, and just have a lot of fun. If you want to see some posts, just go here: https://readanotherpage.com?s=top+5 and you can read last years posts.

Oh, yeah! I write for a young writer’s site called Noble Novels, and Holly, the editor of Noble Novels hosted a five fall favorites party last fall.

Yes, Camp will be fun! I don’t feel ready for it most of the time, but oh well. I don’t think it’s going to wait. 😛
