Christmas Movie Reviews

December 8, 2016 by readanotherpage 10 Comments

There is something special about curling up with a hot drink, or eating supper in the living room with your family while you watch a good Christmas movie. Let the snow fall outside. Let the ice start to gather in long pointed spears from the eves of the roof. Let others fight against the bitter cold as they rush here and there to do their shopping. But we have movies to watch; a time machine to transport us to another year, another place, to meet new friends and see new sights. Maybe we’ll laugh a little, and maybe we’ll shed a few tears. But in the end, we’ll be satisfied by a story well told.

Christmas Lodge

Christmas Lodge

ย A delightful story about a woman who wants to restore an old lodge where her family used to go every Christmas. I want to go to that lodge! The scenery is lovely, the characters charming and the story enjoyable. There is some romance for those of you who don’t like stories without that, but it isn’t the main part of the story. It’s about Christmas miracles, family, memories and hope.

A Song for the Season

A Song for the Season

This is a Feature Films for Families movie and we really like it. When a school is facing serious financial difficulties, Cal Peterson comes in to find out if there is a way to save the school. But it might mean cutting one or more of their programs. Meanwhile, Cal’s niece is facing her own difficulties since her mother has died, Jack (Cal’s father), a former WWII air force officer, wishes he could hear from one of his old buddies again. Add to the mix, the music teacher, and Marge (who has fallen in love with Jack) and you are set for a Christmas story of laughter, tears, and yes, a bit of romance. ๐Ÿ™‚

What are some of your favorite Christmas movies? Even though we have a lot of Christmas movies that we enjoy, we love finding new ones to add to our collection.

Oh, I’ve watched The Christmas Lodge. I remember it being pretty good. ๐Ÿ™‚

Other than cartoons (I love quite a few Christmas cartoons from Bugs Bunny Christmas Specials to How the Grinch Stole Christmas, I love The Bishop’s Wife, It’s a Wonderful Life, and all those classic Christmas movies. They’re so good! ๐Ÿ™‚

I really enjoy “It’s a Wonderful Life” too, but thought that since “everyone” listed that, I’d pick some different ones. ๐Ÿ™‚ Fun to know someone else has watched “The Christmas Lodge.” ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for stopping by, Kellyn.

I love the scenery. Makes me want to go out to the mountains and stay in a lodge like that. ๐Ÿ™‚
