You made it back for the final part of my Bookshelf Tour!
I really didn’t expect it to take this long to tour my bookshelves. But I suppose when a person has over 800 books, it would take a while. I hope you had enough time to peruse them leisurely. If you missed any of the days, you can go back and read them here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7.
But if you are all caught up and ready, then let’s get down to the final two shelves. I’ve saved my favorite authors for last. These are the shelves right beside the head of my bed so they are the easiest to reach over and pull off a book to read.
Once again we have a shelf with a book-bridge. But, as you can see, these books aren’t all the same size. And you may be wondering why on earth I don’t have the books that all look alike together. It’s really simple actually, it has to do with series. But in another sense, there really is no rhyme or reason for the organization or lack there of on this shelf. You see, all these book, except for the three on the far top right (I’m missing my forth one in the picture), are by the same author. However, they were published by so many different publishing places that they don’t match. I think it would be fun to have them all by the same publishing house and all the same size, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.
But let’s get on with the actual tour.
This is my Pansy shelf. Perhaps you’ve heard me mention before, but Pansy–Isabella Alden–is my favorite author. I love her books. Over the years my mom, sister, and I have collected every title we can find. We don’t all have every one, and there are some that my mom and sister have that I would like to add to my collection. Since there are over 70 books by this author that I own (and I’ve read more than that), I’m only going to give you the titles of a few of my favorites. Ready?
Three People, Jessie Wells, Little Fishers and Their Nets, The Man of the House, Missent The Story of a Letter, Mag and Margaret, The Browns at Mt. Hermon.
The last three books on the top right of the shelf are my A.A. Milne books. I do have the 4th book, but my grandpa wanted to take a trip down memory lane and reread Now We Are Six so he had that book when I took the picture. These books used to be my grandpa’s when he was a boy, but he gave them to me many years ago.
Now the last and final shelf.
The first 6 books are more Pansy books that didn’t fit on the top shelf. Yes, those two spiral bound books are ones that I printed so we could all read them. Next is the first two of my Aggie books: Ready or Not and For Keeps. I do have the other two, but my best friend is borrowing them. The darker book is Not My Will and it is followed by 7 other books by the same author. I’m not sure which one of her books is my favorite. It would probably be a tie between The Deepening Stream and A Brother Beloved.
The final books on the shelf are all by the same author: Janet Lambert. Her stories are such fun. I don’t have all of them, but I have most of my favorite series. I’m still missing two of the Tippy Perrish books, two of the Parri Macdonald books, and one Campbell book. But I have all the Penny Perrish, Cinda Hollister, Dria Meredith, and Christy Drayton stories. There are more series, but I didn’t like them as well so didn’t bother trying to get them. I can read them off my mom’s shelf.
