Don’t you love book related parties? I do! I love books. When Victoria mentioned she was going to do a party and one day was going to be about books . . . I got excited. π
Books
by
Rebekah A. Morris
Books aplenty, books galore,
My favorite place is a used book store.
Books of world history,
Books of missions or mystery,
Books of travel, books of prose,
Books smell better than a fresh picked rose.
Books of ancient tales of yore,
Books more modern by the score.
Books in blue and books in red,
Books of animals long since dead.
Books for children, books for teens,
Books for old or the in-betweens.
Books in that room, books in this,
Books on those shelves belong to Sis.
Mom has her books here and there,
In fact, Mom’s books are everywhere!
My shelves are crowded with most of my books,
The rest I squeeze in many odd nooks.
As I said before, there are books galore,
But still I love a used book store.

Oh, wait! Don’t go yet! I am in need of a good book to read that has a quilt on the cover. Any recommendations?
Great post Rebecca!!! I love your poem!!! How lovely!
Thanks, Claire. π
Poetry about bookstores… I’ve written a fair share of that myself. XD
I think they just inspire poetic thoughts. π
Lovely poem, Rebekah! And I just now noticed that some of your books are free/on sale! Yay! π
Thanks, Kellyn. Yep, some of them are, so feel free to take advantage of that fact and get a few to read. π
I will, although I admit I feel just a tinge guilty. You know the, “I should have actually bought them …” guilt. π
Don’t feel guilty. Just get and enjoy them. If it would help you feel less guilty though, I won’t turn away reviews. π
I’ll keep that in mind! π
Awesome poem! π And WHOO free books, lol!! Sweet!
Thanks. And enjoy the free books, Angela. π
I’m an author who hopes to self publish so this is right up my ally! I LOVED your poem! I’m so excited for the giveaway! π
How fun! What genre is your book? It’s always fun to see new authors releasing their books into the world.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the poem. π
It sure is a fun giveaway!
Oh, thank you for your interest! It is a Christian Fiction novel based in modern times about two families who are missionaries. I have been writing it part by part for over a year for a column I write for a magazine found here: thekingsprincessmagazine.weebly.com , and I am lengthening and turning them into a book! π It’s going well so far, with the Lord’s grace! π
I just tried to sign up for the free stories and it was a bit twitchy so I was curious as to if you got it? Thanks! I was browsing through your website and it’s amazing! All of your opportunities and book cover designing and such are so wonderful because I was worried as to how I was going to have a cover made for my book and such and this site will be so helpful to me! Your view on books is so great, and I am so glad you read peoples books, I may have you read mine at some point if you are interested!
I look forward to visiting your lovely blog again! π
Yes, I just got your sign up. I was away from the computer for a while, but I just sent the free stories. π Enjoy!
Glad you found some helpful things on my site. Let me know if you have any questions or anything! Happy writing!
Thanks for the free books!
You’re welcome! Enjoy them!
Hi! That was a great poem. Oh, those used book stores… =D I’ have every book you have on special today, and the only one I haven’t read yet is the Day Maid. The most recent one I’ve read is Choices for Max, which I “bought” this morning and finished reading early afternoon. Great little story! I enjoyed it very much. Thanks!
“Rejoice evermore.”

Thanks, Liberty! Glad you enjoyed “Choices for Max.” Which ending did you pick first?
I hope you enjoy the Day Maid.
Well, if I told you, that might leave spoilers for other people. =P I started with the choice I thought he should make on the first one, then a little bit through I went back and took the other choice so I’d save the best for last. I did that with all the choices. =D I really liked that the story had different options, and the consequences (good and bad) were good. Thanks again!

π It was rather fun to write as I had to think of different endings, and if this-then that sort of thing. Maybe I’ll write another one some day.
You just might start a new genre in current Christian stories! I’ve always enjoyed the “Choose Your Own” adventures, but there aren’t many good ones out there. Maybe we Christian writers can change that. =D
I think I’ve only seen one “choose your own” story, so maybe this is a genre that needs some help. π
I enjoy your blog.
Marilyn
Thank you.
What a lovely ode to books and bookstores! I can especially relate to the line about filling your shelves and “many odd books.” XD
Thank you. Yes, it seems that all book lovers have trouble finding space for all their books. Some people collect stamps, or dolls, but I like collecting books.
Oh, I simply adore your poem on books! What accuracy too. π
Thanks for the free ebooks. I loaded my Kindle up tonight, and look forward to trying your books out.
Glad you enjoyed the poem. Used bookstores are pretty much the only place I like to shop. π
I hope you enjoy your books. Happy reading!
The poem was so true! I just started getting all my books together and away from people……Hiding them in my closet!
Old books are so nice! I have a 1922!
OOOOH! A giveaway!!!!
Oh, I love old books! They just have a feel that the modern books don’t. Thanks for coming by and commenting!
I love this giveaway!!
Your blog is so pretty and old-fashioned!! <3
Thank you. Yes, it’s a really fun giveaway!
