Wow! Oh, wow! Oh, wow! Oh, WOW!
Those were my thoughts and words as I began to play with Book Brush. It’s fun. It’s easy. And it’s addictive! It’s made my life SO much easier as an author. Except that it’s addicting. But what on earth is Book Brush?
The best way I can describe it as the perfect 3D image maker and the easiest ads and social media designer anywhere! Let’s take a look at it!
This gives you just a quick idea of what you can create. But it’s oh, so much more!
I started out making some 3D images of my books. I’ve made my own 3D images for several years in Photoshop, and they weren’t hard, but they did take a little time. With Book Brush, I simply upload my covers, then chose the template I want, click my cover image and low and behold, a perfect 3D image is created for me! You want to see how your kindle book would look as a hardback? Or maybe your paperback as an audio.
From this (on the left)
(that I created in Photoshop and it’s not a paperback),
to This!
And all I had to do was click the template and the cover.
You can also put multiple 3D images into one graphic like:
or
Or even
This! Yes, they have these wonderful templates to use for your book if you have yet to reveal the cover! They have novel size, small size, kindle, and more.
But suppose I want to create an ad, or a graphic for social media? Don’t worry, the fun has only just begun!
See each of those icons? They have ready made templates sized just for those specific sites! All you have to do is click the one you want, add your background (which uses Pixabay), add your covers and text, and you’re done!
(Or you can create a custom size graphic.)
This one took me about 2 minutes.
And 2 minutes to do this one.
They also have templates already designed and just waiting for your book cover if you don’t feel creative.
Oh, and if you design a graphic for one social media site and save your image or just download it, you can switch to another template size and all your backgrounds, text, and images will be there ready to be adjusted. Talk about ease!
You can save your designs as templates and use them over and over again with different covers if you want. Life just got so much easier! Someone designed this program with busy people in mind. π
And I haven’t even mentioned the STAMPS. They have stamps for Amazon, Goodreads, Audible, and the list goes on, that you can just add to your image. You can even do star ratings too. π
One thing I discovered NOT to do.
Don’t get ahead of the site and try to create another 3D image while the first one is loading. It messes things up.
Oh, and did I mention that you can register on Book Brush for FREE? If you have the free account you can create 3 images a month. If you need more than that, you can register for the Plus Plan which is a year of Book Brush and it comes out to only $8.00 for a month with unlimited images! Or you can do the Pro Plan and get 50 images a month for $29.00 and you can create some for other authors. I have a feeling that’s what I’m going to be doing any time I publish a new book. π (If you think you’d like more than the 3 images you can get a month, but don’t want to pay for a year, or the full $29.00, I can let you know when I’m doing a Pro Plan month. You can pay me a small fee to design some images for you, but you won’t have to pay for the full thing. Just send me a message via the contact form or by email.)
Now, just in case you didn’t see enough of these oh, so fun imagesβ Here are a few more I did.
So what are you waiting for? Head over to Book Brush and try it out! I guaranty you’ll have fun! And just think of all those wonderful images you can create!
*Rushes back to design something else even if I don’t need it.*

This looks sooooooooooooooooooooo cool!! I’ll have to check it out.
I have two quick questions. How/where do you get your book covers? Do you snap photos yourself, or does a photographer do it? Or do you simply make a collage of stuff online?
I’ve published one book by Lulu.com and it was a total fail *winces at the memory* I consider it my practice round LOL. One of the reasons why it is so bad is I couldn’t get a cover I liked, so it ended up being a picture of a lake. There isn’t even a lake in the book! *sigh* Anyway………One more question: What company do you publish books by?
Sorry for all the questions! I want to know what to do when the time comes for me to publish a serious book I want to actually sell online and stuff. It’s a far-fetched dream, but if I ever do it, I feel like the best person to ask is you π
I always look forward to getting your posts in my inbox!

I don’t mind the questions at all, Izzy. In fact, I love answering them and helping others in their writing or publishing journey.
My covers are a mixture. Several of them I did myself, others I had someone else do. A few I actually paid someone to paint pictures for my covers. (Triple Creek Ranch). Some of the photos come from my best friend who is a photographer, but others come from online places like Pixabay.com. (You can get free images there that you can use for your covers.) Some people use Canva.com to design their covers, but I prefer using Photoshop. It really depends on what you want. If you go to the Resource Library tab on my website, you can find some cover designers I’ve used.
Question 2. I actually self-publish my books using Kindle Direct Publishing. I used to use CreateSpace but they merged with KDP so that’s what I use. π I actually think CreateSpace was a little easier, but maybe that’s because I’ve done so many books with them and only a few with KDP. π KDP also does kindle books.
Don’t give up on your dream! π I know writing and publishing isn’t for everyone, but if you even want to publish a kindle story or a book just for yourself, don’t think you can’t do it.
