The message of this story might be hidden if you don’t pay attention, but it is there. It is a story of how God can use even problems and troubles to change the lives of others for the better. Even though this was a short picture book, I found myself feeling as though I knew the characters. Little Thomas is just like a normal little boy with questions who is not afraid to tell you what he thinks. But at the same time he is very polite about it. And I did like Mr. Toomey even if he is grumpy and cross at the beginning.
The illustrations are lovely and bring the story to life.
A sweet Christmas story to read for years to come.
