Do you enjoy stories about Christmas in different places? Places where most people don’t think about? If so, try today’s story.
The Faraway Christmas: A Story of the Farallon Islands by Edith Thacher Hurd
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is different than most Christmas stories as it takes place on an island. I enjoyed the different setting. The fact that the supplies, Christmas trees, presents and things had to come from the mainland gave the story a unique feel.
Interesting for children to learn about Christmas in other places. And for older readers too.
Have you ever had Christmas in any unusual places? Where do you usually have Christmas?

I once had christmas in the Philippines. I was a missionary over there. They start caroling as soon as it reaches September. lights and everything if they have it, decorations every where. and everything was closed on Christmas eve and Christmas day. It was an interesting experience 🙂

Wow, that does sound interesting. I like the sound of everything being closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day though.

I’ve celebrated Christmas in Mexico twice. There is always a lot of visiting, music, wishing everyone Feliz Navidad, and of course, lots of good food!
This book sounds really interesting!
