If you’ve read the first two books in the Lighten our Darkness, you don’t want to miss today’s Christmas story! The author even put it on sale just for you!
Through the Darkness by Sarah Beth Brazytis

This story was sweet and hard and delightful and touching all at once. I loved getting to spend time with all the characters from the other two books in the series again. It might not be your typical Christmas story that’s all bows and candles, but gives a good reminder that God is still with us even in the difficult times.
I will say that I wanted to hug the author for not doing the typical “it would be realistic to . . .” and instead realized that it could also be just as realistic to not do something!
Loved the reminder that we are not to stay in the darkness, but to walk through it.
Recommended. But read the other two books first.
Have you read the other books in this series before? Have you read any other books by this author? What’s your favorite WW2 Christmas story?

One of my favorite books to read at Christmas (it really just has one solid Christmas scene, but we just read it again tonight and it always brings me to tears!) is ‘The Small War of Sergeant Donkey’. It’s set in Italy during WWII, and the friendships between the American soldier and a local Italian family is one of the most heartwarming things I have ever read.
Thank you for including my book in your Christmas list!

Oh, I think I’ve read that story before! Or at least I’ve heard of it!
