The party is over, life is returning to “normal”Β . . . if there is such a thing as normal. Now, notice, I didn’t say it HAD RETURNED to normal, but that it was getting there. Usually I have my post up by around 8:30 each Tuesday. But not today. Today I forgot it. I knew there was something else I should add to my “to-do” list, but I really could not think of what it was. So . . . I worked on other things.
Unfortunately our leaves aren’t as pretty as these. In fact, most trees around here haven’t even begun to change colors yet, but I can pretend it’s fall, can’t I? Even if I’m wearing summer clothes and going barefoot?
If you are new here, welcome to my blog.
It’s not usually the crazy busy place it was last week. Hopefully you’ll have more time and leisure to take a look around. There’s quite a bit to see, I know. And if you have questions, feel free to leave a comment or use the contact form. I try to reply before the next day.
You may have noticed on my Home page that my audio “Through the Tunnel” is now available! If you get or have the kindle version, you can get the audio for only a few dollars. This reader did a wonderful job of making the story come to life. If you want to listen to a sample, you can visit my Audio Books page and see what you think.
The 6th book in my Triple Creek Ranch series is written. It’s not edited yet, but it’s at least written. And I finished sending off my “model pictures” to my illustrator. I can’t wait to see her work her magic with her watercolor and paintbrushes! Perhaps I’ll even share one of the illustrations with you before the book comes out. Would you like that? Oh, and if you are wondering, this book now has a title: Together.
Now, just for the fun of it, I came across this really fun quiz a few weeks back and thought you all might enjoy taking it too and finding out what punctuation mark you are. (You will have to scroll down just a little to find the start button.) I did it and thought it was fun, and, in my case, found it was quite true! I am a semicolon. You know those funny looking things that you might not use very much? Yeah, one of these: ; My family said it was perfect for me because I don’t seem to ever stop; my ideas and words just keep going; I have the ability to connect things that no one else can connect. Yes, I jump from one subject to the next with hardly a pause, and one little word from one sentence might spark an entirely new train of thoughts for me. I’d love to know what you are! Which punctuation mark are you?
I’m starting to work on the layout for my Christmas story. π I’m hoping to make it both a kindle book and a small paperback. I think you’ll enjoy this story. There’s a mystery in it. Did that spark your interest? I’ll share the cover later when it’s getting closer to being finished.
Hopefully next week I’ll be a little more prepared for the day and have something more of interest for you.

Hi Rebekah!
I enjoyed the busyness of the fall party last week; I’m also enjoying the thought of all those books waiting for me to find and read them. =) Audiobooks are almost as good as books; better, even, in that it’s possible to do two things at once. Even if the reader is difficult to listen to, some books are so good they make you forget the reader; good books with a good reader are an absolute delight. Mysteries are fun; well-written mysteries are even better; well-written, truly Christian mysteries are superb! Semi-colons are rarely included in my normal life; semi-colons are to blame for the choppiness of this comment which, in truth, may have taken 15 minutes to write.
Happy Autumn! =)

Hi Liberty!
Thanks for commenting. I’m glad to know you enjoyed the busy party last week. How many books did you add to your list? π
I love being able to listen to a book and do something else. That’s how I’ve gotten through books like “A Tale of Two Cities,” “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court,” “Deer-slayer” and an unknown number of other books, along with over a dozen YWAM biographies. Yes, some readers are better than others. π
Ah yes, the semi-colon. π

Just finished the tally today! 101 to read!

Wow! That’s a lot of books! I hope you have time. π

Hmm… I got a dash which I’m not sure is quite correct. π Looking forward to the Christmas story!
readanotherpage says
Was it a dash or an em dash? What did it say about it?
I was working on the layout for the Christmas story today! It’s going to have 8 chapters. And I really can’t wait to share the cover!
Thanks for commenting, Kate!

I was an em dash. It said I make people stop and think. π That is so exciting!!!

So far, I’ve only heard of the em dash and the semicolon. I want to know what they say about the other punctuation marks.

HI Rebekah!
I took the quiz and it said I was an em dash. π
I love listening to audio books, especially in the car. Though, I haven’t listened to an audio book in a few years. And yes. I do love mysteries and reading mystery books. Especially mystery books that have a clean Christian story to them. π
I enjoyed the party and can’t wait till the next one.
Love in Christ,
Ashley

An “em dash” huh? Do you think it fits? π
Audios in the car are great!
I’ll be sure to let you know when/if we have another party. Happy to know you enjoyed our first one. π

I got semicolon as well! π I believe it fits.

Another semicolon. π How fun. I’ve sometimes wondered how my brain can jump around so much, but then another idea comes into it so I don’t wonder too long. π
Thanks for commenting, Faith.

I got an em dash. Which in some ways may be right. But others… lol

Ha ha! π I guess we can’t expect this quiz to be perfect. Thanks for commenting!

I’m an em dash! Gotta admit though, I had no idea what that was *grins guiltily* I know what it is now though π And I’d definitely say it fits! I use it wayyyyy too often – almost unconsciously.

π It fits, huh? How fun! I will admit that I used to not know what it was, but I too use it quite a bit. π
