Dear Readers,
I am writing this to you from home. Camp is over! The cabin Next Door is empty. All the confetti from the celebrations has been swept up. That took a bit of work as, for the first time ever, every single one of us in Next Door reached our goal! The wrappers from all our snacks have been picked up, the stray pieces of paper are all collected and returned to their rightful owners, and our banner is now empty of certificates. The beds are stripped and the door locked behind us. We returned the key to the main HQ and have said our good byes. It’s the final camp of the year, which is kind of sad. I’ve really enjoyed each of these camps and how many words I get written during them.
So, how did I do during this camp?
As you can see from my stationary and the first part of this letter, I won! Yep, even after returning my goal to 20k, I managed to actually reach 27,347 words!
This was a different sort of camp for me. Usually I’m focused more on one or two stories, but this time I wrote:
- A Police Force for Christmas (6k+ words)
- A Crazy, Crowded Christmas (6k+ words)
- Providence Christmas [title subject to change](5k+words)
- Lawrence & Lenexa (12k+ words)
- Kelsey’s Stories (3k+ words)
- Secret Project (7k+ words)
- Another Christmas story with no title yet. (2k+ words)
And I even wrote some while I took a vacation to visit my grandparents. I never write there!
This past month was also a bit crazy because I was getting all the final things of the Five Fall Favorites blog party together and sent out, and getting things planned for an upcoming Book Release blog tour. (Stay tuned at the end of the month for that.)
Anyway, camp was great fun. The girls in my cabin got a lot of writing done too! Since everyone won and passed their goals, so we decided to celebrate with a bonfire and stuff on the day after camp. We cooked supper over the fire and had s’mores, and sang songs and told stories. You’d think we’d be sick of stories, but when it’s dark, and late at night . . .
This month I’ve set my goal of writing 15k words. We’ll see how things go. I guess that’s all I have to tell you. I’m going to go and get busy on other things. Bye!

Yay! Glad you had fun! It’s kind of addicting, isn’t it? 🙂 I enjoyed being in the same cabin as you.
