Dear Readers,
Well, camp is officially over. It’s hard to believe that we’ll all be going home this weekend. It’s been a lovely time, and I’ve enjoyed meeting new writers and getting to know others better. I didn’t many sprints in, but I think the trail and path were pretty busy. Let me just say that Tentalizing Tales was certainly more lively than it’s ever been before. Which was fun. 🙂
I went swimming with several of the girls yesterday and got dunked and dunked others. Some of us even jumped off the cliffs into the water. We can’t do that in the winter.
I reached my writing goal of 15k words. Of course it was almost all from writing short scenes and stories based on the daily picture prompts and word of the day that were posted at camp. I had a lot of fun figuring out how to combine both the picture and the word into one story or scene. Some were easy, others took more of an effort. Some of the scenes or stories were more interesting and fun to write, others were just okay. A few of them were actually rather long, but the majority were shorter. Around 300-400 words each. And yes, there were some scenes that might get more written about another time.
One of the things that made these stories fun was using names of girls from camp. Some were saying that they’d never seen their name in a story before, so I made a list and was able to use everyone who requested a story. Have you ever found your name in a story before?
I did get behind on using the pictures and words, so I’m working on catching up this week. I’d really like to get them all done before I leave camp.
But now I should go and help pick up some trash in my tent. Our cleaning lady does a wonderful job of cleaning things up even if she now and then changes the names of places. Then it makes for an interesting time as we try to find our way around camp.
I hope you have been enjoying your summer!
