Dear Readers,
As you can tell by the header on this stationary, I am once again a winner at Camp NaNo. Not only did I reach and pass my first goal of 15k by the 15th, I upped it to 20k and beat that before the 20th of the month. Then I raised it again, this time to 30k. Since my story was really moving, I was able to reach 30k words on the 27th. Yay!
And then I kept writing. I ended up with a total of 32,509 words.
The fun thing about this month was that all except the last thousand words were all on one story. That doesn’t usually happen. Most years I’ve gotten stuck on a story and moved on to something else for a time. This time I wrote almost an entire story in one month. 🙂
So, what is my story about? I can’t tell you much yet, but I will tell you that this Secret Project is book 1 and book 2 of a hopefully 3-5 book series. And one of the characters doesn’t speak. Other than that . . . you’ll just have to wait. I’m working on getting the prequel written right now. Once that’s done maybe I can tell you a little more.
And that is the end of camp. I didn’t like how slow the camp website was, so I set up a place for cabin mates from Next Door to chat and sprint. That got the words flowing for many of us.
But I’m going to go. I need to help pack up and clean. Maybe Camp will be more fun in July. Hmm, will I be working on Book 4 or 5 by then? Do you want to join Next Door in July?

I got slightly over 30k too!! Which was about 10k more than I did last year 👏🏻 I totally plan to do it again in July, even if I’m only using the site for tracking my progress 🙄
