Welcome to 2018!

Are you ready for the New Year? I’m still trying to find out what happened to last year! But I don’t suppose I ever will find those missing days. *sighs*

Let’s move on, shall we?

I could write all sorts of things for this post today. But let’s just take a quick look back at 2017. Ready?

 

Writing:

January – 28,400 words written (mostly on Finding Joy)

February – 19,074 (a mixture of Dylan’s Story and Finding Joy)

March – 22,180 (if I remember right, this was Dylan’s Story)

April – 35,877 (My largest word count for one month ever! Thanks Camp NaNo!)

May – 11,740 (I finished Dylan’s Story and started serious editing and chopping of Finding Joy)

June – 25,492 (I think I was working on Finding Joy and maybe some short stories.)

July – 8,833 (Crazy month!)

August – 6,001 (my word count was dwindling!)

September – 11,030 (trying to get back into writing regularly)

October – 3,535 (there were two weeks when I didn’t write at all!)

November – 15,406 (I really surprised myself with this word count since life was so busy.)

December – 4,038 (Not as much as I had hoped, but better than I was expecting.)

All that for a grand total of 191,606 words written this year!

 

On this blog I hosted two Blog Parties (3-2-1 Write!) (Five Fall Favorites)

Shared some how-to’s, looked closer at some authors, posted a few reviews, participated in a few blog tours, had my own, very first blog tour, and shared 24 Books before Christmas. Along with other things.

 

My Goodreads Reading Challenge.

First off, I upped it. Twice Three times. Since I can now mark books that I read for a second time, I discovered I can make my challenge even higher.

I have read a grand total of 135 books this year (and I didn’t count all the kids’ picture books I’ve read to my nieces and nephews), and 106 of those were books I’d never read before.

Now, I promised I would do this little Goodreads tag of the books I’ve read this year. If you want to see all the books I’ve read, just go here.

1. How many books have people on the cover? 88

2. Which book is the most colorful? Just how are you to decide which is the most colorful? Define colorful.

3. How many children’s, young adult, and adult books have you read? Well, I’m not sure. I don’t usually mark children’s books on GRs unless they’re chapter books.

I’m going to say 39 were children’s books. (Though it’s really hard to decide on some of them!)

And 39 for young adult. (Some of these may overlap each other. 😛

And that means the rest are adult books. (Or they should be.)

4. Which cover is the most unique?

Though it really is hard to decide.

5. Have you listened to any audiobooks? Yes, but I never got around to adding them to my GRs list or reviewing them.

6. More fiction or nonfiction? More Fiction. I read a few biographies, and a few other things, but not many.
