It’s here!
I’m so excited to get to finally share not just the link so you can order your own copy of this lovely collection, but the story behind the book. You like stories, right? I thought so. After all, why would you be coming to Read Another Page if you didn’t like stories.
*offers fresh baked Christmas cookies to my listeners*
Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved Christmas. She loved everything about the season from the lights, to the cookies, from the decorated Christmas trees, to the lovely wrapped presents, and she loved Christmas stories. When she was a little girl, her mother would read a few certain Christmas stories every year to her and her brother and sister.
As the girl grew older, she would now and then stumble across another Christmas story that she’d never read before, but as time past, the girl began wishing for more and more Christmas stories. So she began a search. This search led her to many treasures, but it also led her to the realization that many of the so called “Christmas” stories hardly mentioned her favorite holiday, or had objectionable things in them. She began writing her own Christmas stories, but that wasn’t enough.
She wanted more. Yes, this girl was never quite satisfied with the dozens and dozens of Christmas stories she had. So one day, she got the idea of getting some writing friends together and all writing Christmas stories to put in a collection together.
It was a lot of work and fun deciding how the stories would connect with each other, where they would take place and all sorts of little details. Then the writing began. And the stories were born. And now the collection is available.
But perhaps you are wondering how the stories in this collection connect. Here are a few things:
- Each story has a Moravian Star
- Each story features an Aunt
- Each story takes place at least most of the time, in Homewood, Minnesota
- If you look closely, you will find the same characters, or family names in different stories
Check out the rest of the posts on this blog tour, and don’t forget to get your copy and maybe one for a friend for Christmas!
