5 Things About Me – Part 1

January 29, 2019 by readanotherpage 15 Comments

Since January has 5 Tuesdays, I thought I’d be a bit different this year and share 5 things about me. Each 5th Tuesday I’ll share 5 more things about me. They might be about me as a teacher, writer, aunt, dreamer, whatever. So come back on the next 5th Tuesday to learn about me! *wonders when the next 5th Tuesday is* *runs off to look at calendar*

Welcome to the post where I share 5 eccentric things about the real me!

I’m about to reveal things that hardly anyone except my family knows. Things that prove I’m not just a “normal” person. πŸ˜‰

1. My favorite way to clean off my desks (yes, I have 2 desks, and I borrow the top of my sister’s desk as well) is to gather everything off them (except computer and pictures) and put them on my sister’s bed. Call me eccentric but it helps me sort through the piles of things, put things where they go, and I have to have it done before bedtime so my sister can go to bed. πŸ™‚

2. When I put dishes away from the dish drainer, I don’t know why, but I almost always leave one dish behind. Somehow that last dish gets forgotten, or goes unseen. My sister says it’s my trademark, and they know I put the dishes away when there’s one left.

3. Sometimes when I talk, I forget that others can’t read my thoughts and start in the middle of whatever I was thinking. Then I have trouble trying to gather my thoughts to explain what on earth I was talking about. It can make for a rather complicated conversation.

4. I often compose entire emails in my mind when I’m not at the computer, then either wonder why I haven’t gotten a reply a few days later, or can’t remember a single thing of what I was going to say when I remember I needed to send an email.

5. In the middle of anything, a random phrase, song, line, or quote from something I listened to or watched years ago will suddenly pop into my head and then out of my mouth often causing strange looks or blank stares. These things don’t come logically, well, sometimes they do–(but they aren’t the ones that just pop into my head)–they just appear and then leave again.

And there you have it. Do you do any of these eccentric things? What is some strange quirk or eccentricity about you? I’d love to know! πŸ™‚

πŸ˜‚ I’m with you on writing in my headβ€”stories, emails, journal entries, you name it! I always think someday someone should invent a machine that writes down your thoughts for you!

Now I could go with a thought writing machine! πŸ™‚ At least I think so. πŸ˜‰

3 and 5 are so me, lol! I am a listaholic, so if something isn’t on the list, it won’t be remembered!

Whew! At least I’m not the only one who randomly begins to talk leaving others to guess what I’m talking about. πŸ™‚
I like lists, and get more done when I have a list, but . . . I don’t use one all the time.

Another composer of unsent emails! And someone else who confuses people by suddenly talking about what they are thinking without giving any warning. Makes me feel better. Perhaps I’m not quite as eccentric. *looks at first 2 things on list* Then again, maybe I am. πŸ™‚

Hahaha, that was fun!! I can’t wait for the next post! πŸ˜‰ I don’t think I do any of those things… maybe every once in a while! πŸ˜› So one thing I almost always do, it bite the inside of my cheeks (it’s worse if I’m thinking about stuff or nervous about something) πŸ˜€

What? You mean you don’t imagine emails and then never send them? πŸ˜‰ Well, biting the inside of your cheek doesn’t sound to pleasant. πŸ™‚

Nope, sorry! πŸ˜‰ Yeah it’s not the best quirk, but I don’t think it’s something that I’ll be able to stop.. XD

πŸ˜€ At least is a self quirk and not one like leaving one dish behind.

Yes! Composing emails in your head! After sending an email or a text, I often compose the answer to the answer THEY will send! Lol!!
