I can’t believe it’s the last day of the party! But I’m glad you came back. I hope you have enough books to last you through winter.
The breeze has been picking up this morning and I heard the cold is going to be blowing in tonight. I hope you have had a wonderful week exploring the acres around the Literary Lodge. The bonfires have burned late into the night, and there has been such delightful talks with old friends. But today is our last day. If you want to help clean up that would great! The boats all need checked to make sure no one left any books in them. If you find any, please bring them to the lodge and hopefully someone will claim them. The bikes and benches can be taken out to the barns for the winter. All blankets will need shaken and folded before we store them in the closet here at the lodge. Oh, and we found two bushels of books sitting in the front room. Does anyone claim them? We’re also missing a couple backpacks. Those could be anywhere. If you happen to find an empty one in the woods or the orchard, would you please bring it to the lodge? Thanks so much.
And thank you all for coming! I hope you had as delightful a time as we did in hosting it! A special thanks to Erika who co-hosted this event with me and also put together the delightful Grand Prize. *applause please* And thank you to the rest of our Five Fall Favorites team: Ryana Lynn, Kaitlyn, Abigail, Martha, Lauren, Katja, Madison, and Faith. We couldn’t have done it without you all! And a huge thanks to you, the participants who make this party worthwhile. Your enthusiasm and excitement over this annual event is a great motivation to continue it.
The winners will be announced down at the bottom of the post where the Grand Prize is listed. If the winners are not listed yet, make sure you come back. And don’t forget to check out the final posts from each of our bloggers. Be sure to leave them a comment and tell them how much you enjoyed the party. And yes, one of them is the Books room and has a free kindle book for you!
Oh, two more things. First, here’s a pdf download of all the Top 5 books shared this year. If you are like me, you have found books you want to read, but won’t be able to remember them all next week, nor will you have time to go back and find all these posts again next month.
The second thing is that there are some books that are $.99, or Free today. To find these books, click on the images on the right. These are all books by current participants of the Five Fall Favorites party, or former participants.
Now enjoy the rest of the day and your stay at the Literary Lodge.
Top 5 from 2021
Having read over 100 books already this year, I was expecting to find it hard to pick which were my favorites. But unfortunately, I didn’t read that many really, really good books. But on the positive side, it made picking these books so much easier. 🙂
Fanny’s Hope Chest by Sarah Holman
This story was an encouragement to give my dreams to my Heavenly Father. I don’t struggle in the same way the main character in this story does, but the reminder that God knows best was good.
A Very Bookish 4th of July by Various Authors
Maybe I’m a little biased because one of my own stories is in the collection, but really, there are not many stories that take place on and around the 4th of July, so I enjoyed this one.
Mrs. Knowlton’s Investment by Isabella Alden
A book by my favorite author. This one shows how God sometimes uses what we call “accidents” to chance our lives and the lives of others.
The Little Card by Isabella Alden
This story was so sweet and encouraging and a wonderful reminder that when we do what we can for Jesus, He can use it even if we don’t see any results.
Emma and the Reasons by Natasha Metzler
A story about a single woman who is not pining away for Mr. Right and who is living a full and productive life in spite of her married friends attempts at interference. (Married people, please don’t make bets about your single friends. It isn’t kind.)
Are you ready to visit all the other Party Rooms–er, blogs? Have fun and don’t forget to leave comments, add books to your TBR list and enter the giveaway! Oh, and these will open in a new tab, so don’t worry, you won’t get lost in the acres of land around the Literary Lodge. 🙂
