It’s hard to believe that it’s now 2017! Where has 2016 gone? Weren’t we just trying to remember to write 2016? Did you have big plans for this past year? If so, did you accomplish them? I had some, but failed to complete my biggest project. That’s not too surprising, however, when I had to wait for others. But for this blog? I don’t think I ever really planned any goals, but let’s take a look at the events that marked Read Another Page this past year.
January
I shared some of my favorite books that I use for writing or research.
February
We talked about writing in smaller parts instead of trying to edit a novel all at once, and I introduced you to my best writing friend: NEO. If you are a serious writer, or even a writer who has to share a computer or something like that, I’d encourage you to give NEO a try!
March
I answered questions about using CreateSpace. Does anyone have any more questions? Would you like a post with more details about a specific thing I mentioned? Just let me know.
April
The release of the second Graham Quartet Mystery!
The Graham Quartet and the Mystery of the Day Maid. And I shared my thoughts on what a writer feels likeβSometimes.
May
We increased our word count and answered some fun questions.
June-August
That was Summer. My books went on sale, and I hope you read more.
This was also the time this site switched from Blogger to WordPress. If you were following Read Another Page on Blogger, and you haven’t started following the new sight, please, PLEASE follow. π I’m trying to get 100 followers by the end of this year. So you could help me out. π
September
That marked the first (and hopefully not the last) blog party! We had five other blogs participating, we shared our Top 5 books in a dozen different genres, and we had a wonderful giveaway! Those of you who joined the party know what fun it was. If you missed out, stick around because there just might be another one . . .
OctoberΒ and November
I guest posted on Amanda’s blog and on Word Painters blog, tried to find time to post regularly and stayed busy.
December
This was the review month. I gave reviews on Christmas books and movies.
I also released my new Christmas book The Old Mansion’s Secret.
During this past year, I also gained new followers, had many people join my email list (though, if you haven’t joined it yet, you might want to as I’m going to start doing some special giveaways this year just for those on my mailing list), and have learned a lot about blogging on WordPress.
And now it’s the New Year. I actually set goals for this blog this year, and you can help me attain those goals if you will. π I’m trying to get 100 blog followers before the end of the year, and I’m trying to get 200 email subscribers before the end of the year as well. So, if you haven’t followed or signed up, please go do so right now. π I’d be so happy if you did. π
This year looks as busy as last year, but hopefully it will be more productive with more books published, more audio books produced, more informative and helpful blog posts, and some fun giveaways and maybe a party or two. π
So Happy New Year! Did you set goals for this year? What plans do you have for January?
Kate says
Great goals! We should definitely do another blog party. π

Oh, a spring party sounds fun! Should we try for the “other” idea we had? π

One of my goals will be to read some of the books from the fall party lists! I just finished tallying up–I originally had 101 books from the party that I wanted to read. Since the party, but before I actually went through recording the titles I wanted to read, I have read 4 of the “To Read” books, and gotten (or realized I already had) 11 of the “To Read” books. And of all the books on the lists, I’d read 74 of them already. That was great fun. Thanks again for doing that!

That’s a lot of books, Liberty! Don’t you just love it when you realize that you already have some of the books you want to read? I’m glad you enjoyed the party and are still enjoying the effects of it. π

Ahh, sounds like you had a busy year! π I really enjoyed all the posts you did, and the CreateSpace one was super helpful!
Plans for January? Edit. xD I need to get “A Question of Honor” edited again, since I haven’t done it since beta-readers, and I got it back from you. π
Happy New Year, Rebekah!!

Oh, the joy’s of editing. π I have 8k words I need to edit, but I just haven’t had time yet. Hopefully I can do that soon. Yes, you should get to work. π
Glad the CreateSpace post was helpful. I have some other posts planned that I think you’ll find helpful. (3D covers, PDFs with covers, tips on creating kindle books, to name a few.)

I enjoyed reading through this, Rebekah! π
I can’t wait to see all of the posts that you do this new year. π I’m also really hoping to read more of your books this year!
Happy New Year!! π

Thanks, Rebekah. I have quiet a list already. If you have questions about writing or publishing or even just random questions about me, ask and perhaps the answers would make a good post. π
Hopefully you can read more of my books. What ones have you read already?
RebekahAshleigh says
Okay, thanks! π
I have read: “Gift From the Storm”, “Fitting In”, “The Old Mansions Secret”, and “At the Christmas Lodge”. I enjoyed them all. =)
“Through the Tunnel” and “Unbroken” both sound really good and are ones I really want to read. I actually have the kindle version of “Unbroken” so I hope to read it soon! π
