I wanted to write a new mystery about the Graham Quartet, but I had a problem. I didn’t have any ideas for a mystery. My sister and I were listening to some old radio shows called “This is Your F.B.I.” and low and behold, the perfect case to use the Graham Quaret! I was thrilled. Not only could I write another mystery, but I could base it off of a real F.B.I. case! Of course I did have to alter the story, but the basic idea remained the same. It was more difficult to write this story partly because it all takes place in less than a week, (You try solving a mystery from start to finish in less than a week!) and I was also mixed up about some things. Finally my mom and I sat down and talked the entire plot out, including things that no one had to know in the story, but I had to know. (Writing mysteries means you really have to know everything!) After about two hours, I was ready to wrap up the story, and The Graham Quartet and the Mystery of the Day Maid became a reality.
