You made it back! So good to see you again!

It looks like things are a little warmer but it sure is foggy. Be careful if you take the boats out for a row on the lake as the fog is thicker out there. I wonder if riding bikes would feel like riding in a cloud. If it does, let me know. I think you will still be able to read on one of the benches if you have a stack of books. The barn might be a lovely place to settle down and read for a bit. Feel free to grab a blanket if you want to take one with you. You need a backpack? Sure, help yourself. And if that won’t hold all your books, I did seen a few empty bushel baskets around by the kitchen door. The apples got used. I think there’s some fresh apple pie today if you get hungry. Oh, I think someone is planning on doing s’mores around the bonfire today if that’s more to your tastes.
Just so you know how this works, I’ll be sharing my Top 5 books in the day’s genre, and right below that, I’ll have the links to all the other rooms, I mean blogs. Make sure you check them all out and find the Books room because they will be offering a FREE short story! And then, below the party rooms, is the giveaway. You won’t want to miss that!
Go-To Favorites

Go-To favorites. I don’t know about you, but I’m the kind of person who reads and then re-reads favorite books. There are times when I just want to read a book I already know I’m going to enjoy and the books I’ll be sharing all fall into that category.

There are times when I just want a book that encourages me, a book with Characters who live a Christian life or learn to. One that leaves me feeling refreshed. Then I go to my favorite author, Isabella Alden.

When I need a fun, light read with enjoyable characters, real life problems, and fun settings, I tend to reach for a book by Janet Lambert. My favorite of her series are Penny, Tippy, Perri, Dria, the Campbells, Christie, and Cinda. The cover I showed is the first of the Penny books.
Note: There are a few euphemisms and swear words.

When I’m looking for good family interactions, exciting mysteries, and respect for authority, I reach for a book in the Bret King series.

This author combines real Christianity with a bit of mystery, interesting characters and often difficult life circumstances. Another favorite author who’s books I’ll just pick up and reread.

Aggie Series by Chautona Havig
This series. While I don’t like everything this author puts in them (I wouldn’t want to hand these books to a guy), the characters are real and some of the situations crack me up while others make me want to drive over and lend a hand. I pick these books up and read bits and pieces when I need something different.

I love today’s genre so much!! Thanks you for sharing these! I haven’t read any (other than Three Peopleπ)
You need to fix that problem, Lydia. π Isabella Alden wrote some many good books!
I will definitely be reading more soon!! π
Good! π
I love Aldenβs books! Gotta read the others π
Yep, you should. π
I always love best the books I’ve already read before! Go-to favourites are the best kind of favourites of all!
Yes, they are! You know you’re going to love it and you read it and love it all over again. π
The only books of these I’ve read are a few of Isabella Alden’s! I saw you showed the cover of “Four Girls At Chautauqua” – I should read that again!!
Well, if you had to pick just one from my list, I’d say do Isabella Alden. π And I had a hard time deciding which cover to show since I’ve read probably close to 90 stories.
Based off your FFF posts now and in the past, I think it’s very clear who your favorite author is π
I really need to check out some of Isabella Alden’s books!
Well, when your favorite author wrote so many stories and they fit so many genres, what can you do but share them? π
Yes, you really should. And if you want to read a few for free, go to https://isabellaalden.com/ and look on her Free Books page. π
I enjoy anything that is set on a ranch, so the Brett King series is now on my list. And I’m looking into Isabella Alden Pansy.
Yes, Bret King is a lot of fun. π
And the Pansy books (Isabella Alden) are so worth reading. You can get some stories for free here: https://isabellaalden.com/
I haven’t read any of these, but now I will have to for sure. Thanks for sharing! I really have enjoyed the last several days of FFF! π
I hope you can read some soon. π
Yay! Glad you’ve been enjoying the party. There’s more to come! π
I read a couple of Isabelle Alden when I was younger and they were really sweet. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law and now you have all mentioned Francena Arnold, so I think I should probably read one of her books now. π And I am slowly collecting the Aggie series on kindle but it does look really fun.
Yes, you really should read Francena Arnold. I think you’d really like them. And probably Aggie too. π
DO you have an Arnold book you would suggest I start with? Preferably one not too sad. π
Yes! Do NOT start with Not My Will.
I would suggest starting with either A Brother Beloved, Fruit for Tomorrow, or Deepening Stream. I think I’d say A Brother Beloved would be best.
I’ve read the whole Aggie books, though the first two are my favorites out of the series. The rest of these books will be put on my ever-growing to-read list!
Oh, yay! I like to hear about growing TBR lists. π Though I get a little worried about my own at times. π
Yes, I think the first two Aggie books are my favorite as well. The last one is my least favorite of the series.
Same here. I actually skipped much of the last book.
Thanks for the recommendations! π
You’re more than welcome! π
Would it be all right if for the ‘Write a Review’ entry I rewrote a review? π I have a book I’ve given a very poor review and I would like to do it over again, completely. But I just wanted to make sure first π
Yes, that would be fine if you are writing a completely new review for it. π
Okay, thanks!!! <3
These all sound so interesting. π I love go-to favorites!
Me too, Kenzie. π
Yessss!! If I need a book that I know I’m going to love again (and again and again;) I go for Isabella Alden! She’s my FAVORITE author of all time! And these other books and series are going on my tbr! (I’ve read part of the Aggie series and I definitely agree about not handing them to just anybody.)
For some reason I’m having problems entering in the giveaway. Do you think it would be because I’m trying to do it on my phone instead of a computer?
I’m not sure on that. I see you’ve gotten two entries, so maybe it is your phone. Are you having trouble getting to the giveaway from other blogs? Or are you just having trouble getting it to work anywhere?
Yay!!!! Another reader who LOVES Pansy as much as I do. π
Yes, most of Aggie I really like, but there are some parts that I wish had been left out.
My sister LOVES Star Spangled Summer! I haven’t read any of the other books, though; I’ll have to put them on my TBR list!
Really? I’ll have to ask her if she’s read the rest of the Penny books. π
Yes, you should add them. And again, if you need to borrow any . . . Just ask. π
I have never read an Isabella Alden book. Have heard many good things about her. Will look into trying to read one soon.
Marilyn
Oh dear! Not a single one? Well, you can get some of her stories for free if you go to the Free Reads page on this site: https://isabellaalden.com/
