Our collection of Christmas movies has grown over the years. We discover another good one here, and find a charming one there. Some of my very favorites, however, I can’t share because you can’t get them anywhere! It is so sad. However, do not despair, I still have a few more to tell you about.
A Grandpa for Christmas
A retired actor who enjoys hanging out with his old friends suddenly finds himself in taking in a granddaughter he’s never met. Becca is sweet butΒ has only heard her grandmother’s side of the story and so doesn’t like her grandfather. At first. This story is full of love, laughter, music (no, it is not a musical, but Becca sings), and forgiveness.

Christmas in Connecticut
You have to get the old, black & white version not the newer version of this movie. According to Smart Housekeeping Elizabeth Lane has everything a perfect housewife would want: a husband, a baby, a charming farm and the ability to prepare recipes that would make your mouth water. But in reality, she has nothing. But her boss doesn’t know that when he invites a returned war hero to stay at her farm for Christmas. Oh, the laughter this movie brings! It is so much fun. The tangled web of falsehoods threatens to rip Elizabeth’s life apart. But don’t worry, romance (just a bit that makes you love it), holiday cheer and some plain talking set things straight.

Oh, Ive never seen “A Grandpa for Christmas”! I know our church library has it, though, so I’ll have to check it out!
And yes, CIC is so good! I just picked it up at the library today, along with “Holiday Inn”. It’s supposed to be super cold and snowy here tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to watching it then! π

I haven’t ever heard of or watched any of these movies. But after reading about Christmas in Conneticut, I think I’d want to watch that one first. π Too bad they’re not available on YouTube.
Merry Christmas!
Love,
Ashley

Hi Ashley, Perhaps your library has “Christmas in Connecticut.” We first watched it from Netflix and then got our own copy so we could enjoy it other years. Hope you can find a copy.
Merry Christmas!
