• Have you ever felt so overwhelmed with your “to-do” list that you want to just hide?
• Are your stories taking over your life?
• Are your publishing projects pushing you to panic?
• Do you feel an almost overwhelming urge to just grab someone else’s already published book and hide in a closet while your read trying to escape your own mountain of manuscripts?
I had great plans for today and they didn’t seem overwhelming. At least not too much so. 🙂 And then I got a few e-mails which brought to mind some other projects that have been set aside. Hmm, should I change plans for today and try to work on those other projects? Should I keep the same plans I had? Should I try to squeeze in those other projects? And what about all those other writing, blogging, publishing, designing, editing, etc. etc. that are on my “to-do” list? What about those? Did I mention life in general? That has a way of crowding in when you least want it to or think it should.
In the midst of all these questions and projects and “to-do” lists, I am reminded of a few verses I read this morning.
“For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.”
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusted in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.”
Let us turn our focus to the Lord who is our strength. All those projects and plans, those troubling “to-do” lists won’t matter when we go in His strength because the Lord’s strength is everlasting. So let us rest and go forth today and tomorrow and the days that follow with confidence and peace, keeping our minds stayed on the Lord.
